Second contact and down to the brass tacks,
the nuts and the bolts
good looking
no faults
as far as I know.

She scrutinises too,
looking at you know who
and who could blame her?

We agree on a next time,
I say,
at your place?
she says,
at mine.

Our first disagreement,
I relent
and say,
okay
at mine.

She wins this time.
your sadness is showing,
put it away.
no one wants to see
your depression today.

it's not time for that,
some might say,
its so unbecoming
to act that way.

your anxiety is showing,
tuck it in.
the world shows no interest
in what's under your skin.

take a deep breath,
that's where you begin,
or, that's what they say
with a pat and a grin.

your illness is showing,
keep it away.
no one is interested
in that anyway.

but by letting it fester,
and by letting it stay,
it might make me
disappear some day.

Who is to say-
old age is wisdom?
rather it's an
unknown kingdom.

The older I get
the less I know for sure
life is a mysterious continent
to live is to struggle, to explore and to endure.

Certitude, what certitude?
wisdom, what wisdom?
human intelligence is finite
the mind that's fixed on certitude is serfdom.

In the beginning  nothing I knew
and at the end--still nothing
nay,  old age is doubts and the
beginning of learning.

One day they're going to forget about you.
They're going to move on.
One day they're going to disappear.
They're going to be long gone.

One day they're going to be with someone else.
They're going to start a family.
One day they're going to have everything.
They're going to be happy.

One day they're going to sit and think.
They're going to be listening to music in their car.
One day they're going to hear your favorite song.
They're going to wonder where you are.

One day they're going to see that the lyrics finally make sense.
They're going to think they should have noticed before.
One day they're going to see the connection.
They're going to realize you're the one they're meant for.

One day they're going to have sadness growing in their hearts.
They're going to try and blame fate.
One day they're going to feel the pain.
They're going to be already far too late.

I write poems for no one to read,
and that’s how I know they’re true.
Here’s sadness for no one’s benefit
a determination to continue that
does not ring hollow in these empty halls.
Genuineness is the bedfellow of solitude.

Sky
Imploding hearts and indecent dialogue;
this fire in my throat ignites the atmosphere above us
You’ll count the flaming streaks in a million billows
until they stain your sight,
your depressed iris left ablaze
scorching your memory of me
to mountains of ashes
You’ll soon awake, surrounded by light
in the sweltering confusion of you and I
the wild red exposed
shifting your mind into this moment
You said we couldn’t escape
if the sky ever enlightened and
set aflame
Yet I would rather dive into the inferno
than ever drown within you

                                         I dream
                                                                                    of falling
                                                                  in love,
