ghost
m-emories of the year past
o-n a day of new beginnings
n-odding head off to silent sleep
t-humbs congealed within the wintry chill
h-ours went by to the new year

o-ut the sheets
f-allen to the side

j-ust awaken from wintry slumber
a- crowd of children ran across streets
n-eighbors greet each other of the new day
u-nder the icicle drenched oak branches
a- cardinal chirped its lonesome song
r-elishing the piercingly fresh air
y-esterday's death, today's first breath
honestly one of my favorites of 2021.

i don't feel very poetic

and i never thought the ceiling i stare at each night
was worth a poem
because i'm sure you'd rather hear about the star splattered sky
with it's infinite universes that envelop beating hearts
and tear things apart just to make them novelties once more

but the white stucco above my head has constellations of it's own
that have kept every secret i ever told
on nights that i'd rather cut off my hands than write a
single godforsaken word

maybe the ceiling is it's own kind of sky
decorated with daydreams the clouds could never carry
it's not poetic by the usual definitions

but neither am i
ode to my bedroom ceiling

love you bro <3

and when i told him
just how beautiful he was
tossing a pomegranate seed in the air
and catching it gracefully
between his rose-coloured lips
it seems the pomegranate juice
had temporarily stained his pale cheeks

All I did was gaze at you
But you looked at me worried
And then you touched my face
And gently wiped the tears that had somehow managed to betray my eyes and run down my cheeks
' don't cry for me...everything is over I am in a better place' you said
And I believed you
Then you leaned down and looked at my lips
As if asking for my permission
I met you in the middle
and as if the stars colliding I felt every emotion
I felt like I was swimming in the excelsior of life and youth
We parted
And you gazed at me
And I knew right then and there
That
This was where I want to be forever.

IRREVOCABLE

Oak leaf and oath,
Rock water and spun linen,
Unction and atonement,
The circle and the flame.

”While there is strength in this body, I will raise the sword;
While there is breath in yours, you will do no harm.
Whether warrior or healer, a truth
Appointed by the heart is
Irrevocable.”

Fragmented impressions of another time and place.

‘For so sworn good or evil an oath may not be broken and it shall pursue oathkeeper and oathbreaker to the world's end.’

an aching, ancient wound, causing
an infection, spreading deep into my soul
hard for me to even look at and yet
here i am staring and
praying the flesh will form together
again.

Listening to the words you say rattle in my brain
Tears flowing freely
I slip down in the water
Heat covering my body
Everything becomes blurry
I can't see my way through
A deep breath
Warmth filling me
The world fades away
Never to see another day
