A new year
A new dream
A new me
A new you
New everything!

Let's ditch the old
And let's all be a
wonderful
shimmering light
Fulfilling new vision
to a limitless heights!
Wishing all of you a very Happy New year.
For this New Year
I only ask these few things,
for you, I'm truly hoping
peace this New Year brings.

I ask for your happiness
that you may truly feel,
peaceful hope and faith
that any hurts will heal.

In this New Year, you enter
it's history yet to be known,
I ask you be touched by love
so you never feel alone.

I ask for joy in your life
that you love, with all your heart,
that you feel the love of family
even when miles apart.

During hurt, I ask you give more
so someone else feels gain,
letting love flow through your heart
washing away past pain.

I hope with what you have
you truly feel blessed,
finding beauty every day
and every night, peaceful rest.

Time has a lot to tell....

I wonder with age

Which  holds more relevance
The pleasure of thought or the dangers of feeling?

I am a fool but I can tell you,
that history is due to repeat itself.

We desire revenge
BUT NEVER
dig the grave we will lay in.

Change is inevitable and
so are the laws that govern death.

Do you understand...

Time has told us a lot, DON'T YOU THINK?

What is lost and what is found,
In the ending year around?

Tried hard and could drop a pound,
But the efforts gave a health sound.

Lost a few so called friends,
In this way karmic debt ends...

Lost my way towards depression,
And headed for an old passion.

Good or bad, are the divine grace,
Got the strength to accept what i face.

Made some new awesome friends,
This is how the life now trends.

Gained enormous emotional strength,
And in the poetry, the desired depth.

Thankful to God for all the lessons!
Grateful for the countless blessings!

To accept the life as it comes,
No more new year resolutions!
My last post in 2017..thnx hp..thnx hp friends for the love ans appreciation...

Stop living in the dark,
Just dive deep into your heart.
Dont let your demons control your mind,
Freedom is exactly what you need to find.
Fire up your thoughts and write it on,
Take out your word-hoard and shine it on.
Let the poetry wrap you up,
Gather the words and blow up.
Memories will try to take control,
Let 'em coz that's how you write your best.
It might hurt a bit in chest
But that will help you in solving your quest.

We each Stop by to read A poet’s, rhyme and verse
This journey is a gift, not a curse

While the soul is exposed
With honesty many truths are divulged

Get to know the writer in a poem or two
This is what I invite us all to do

Start at a poet’s first poem

Read the first poem posted on this site
The progression and confidence, a constant fight

Poet’s linger on subjects for a while
Regurgitating the demons on trial

If you read carefully, between the lines
You will begin to understand the writer’s mines

With A since of respect and comerodity the reader may find
Perhaps friendship can be found if your two of a kind

The first poem took the longest to write
It was the first thought , voiced on this site

So, Go back to the beginning and gain a new insight
A better understanding of your fellow poet’s plight

Many great poems are lost among the stroke of our pen
Let them re-live and shine again

When letters wait
to pounce on a blank page
when thoughts crowd the mind
like frothing **** in a pond
I keep wondering
what poetry is to me
what poetry is to many

Is it not the language of the heart
with no intervention of gray matter
the unlocking of closed vaults
stirring the embers of love, hurt or pain
or giving a free rein to fancy
and flying on magic carpets
to lands forlorn

Sometimes it is
a glide into a sea of tranquillity
an escape from
the humdrum of the world
a flash of liberation
from assaults of pain
a sedative
to numb the turmoil
a sanctuary
for a burdened heart
a window
to look at the world through
a companion
when one is inconsolably alone
a candle flame
in a darkening world
a cloth line
to hang the ***** laundry
a water lily blooming
in the pool of tears
a shelter
in homelessness

sometimes it is a ladder
to climb up to Heavens
an angel on wings
with tidings of hope
peace in a world
braced for war

Poetry, if you are all these
let us fall at your feet
bless us in our art
may we splurge in fancy
and conjure up worlds from words!

our poems may not be light houses
but could be fireflies
on a starless night!
Thanks friends for the loving encouragement you have given! I must thank two of my friends in particular.... Kim Johanna Baker for giving an extra shine to my poem and Sarita Adhitya Varma for helping me post this poem when my repeated attempt at posting failed! She patiently directed me.

trip up the island to see all the folk
monopoly, pong => pig 'n a poke
crystalline glass with dark bitter ale
Santa is looking a little bit pale

cherry red cheeks from a chilled chardonnay
one sailing wait for the talk of the day
drum sticks and dressing are the pick of the bird
chestnuts and brandy for gravy being stirred

brussels and taters are pulled from the bake
pears in the salad bring memories of Jake
sparks from the fire with rich amber glow
grey hair and wrinkles will come...don't you know?

gingerbread man with a white icing smile
candy cane schnapps (with its seasonal style!)
pine cones and tinsel that cover the tree
carols are humming from churches and streets

cold winter nights are the best of the year
chocolate and eggnog await with good cheer
a heavy thick fog approaches the sound
the comforts of Christmas, with joy all around!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
