Staring at the ceiling sky
Past lover's faces
Eyes
Dotting
The midnight moonless skies

Stars twinkling
Their light having been cast
Many light years ago

Each one for their time
Had in their eyes - for me -
The golden glow

Meteor showers of montage sequences
faces
scenes
times
fly by
Trailing ribbons in the ceiling skies

The dots when taken together
Tho eons passed and separated
Pieces and bits form constellations

Eros
Aphrodite
The Mother
Sancho Panza in drag disguise
A female Damocles and her sword
The Companion Star, still glowing here in the Western sky

Looking backwards in time
Their presence was once present
Now, all have vanished
Moved on to other places in space and time

Aware of all I have been given
All I've learned

Remembering I loved each one
And when the moon is right
and the ceiling is dark
and there is no sleep
for me tonight
Their light still shines
On my ceiling night sky.

Fall Away days

swallowing change after change

for we're both still here

you're just so far away

fertile yeses eyes wide
let's make something

my soul closed up
till my next lifetime becomes a has-been
big spaces kinda like me
and so i write them into being

Camellia-Japonica
I've not been outside for 100 days.
100 days of self imprisonment,
like a bird in a cage, though the bird was forced,
I have sentenced myself.
I try to go out but the outside wins,
it whispers warnings on the wind, it rustles its rudeness in the trees leaves, it sends a crow to caw, telling me to close the door and stay in.

You couldn't believe
so quiet could be the croc
its eyes a wise sage
scales rigid rock

lay frozen on the mud
no flies could stir
stubbornly in trance
mind elsewhere

sixteen feet in size
dumb cool in creek
in the hermit's guise
lamblike tender meek

pounce it does when needs
not preys on what eats not
the human hunter feeds
on hatred and whole lot.

Take Time, Be Amazed*

Take time to look around each day
Be amazed at what you see
The many wonders of this world
The beauty that it brings

Stop and watch a baby
And hear the soft sweet cries
Admire all God's Glory
As a new born life arrives

Listen to the children
Spreading laughter all around
While they make angels playing
As snowflakes hit the ground

Watch a couple getting married
As they kiss and start their lives
Not knowing what their futures hold
The joy they feel inside

Look closely at a lasting love
As they sit while holding hands
Feel the passion in their hearts
And know it is Gods plan

Take time to look around each day
Be amazed at what you see
The many wonders of this world
The beauty that it brings*

Take time, Be Amazed

You Just Know

How do you know that its alright
To start over once again
To pack your bags and not look back
A new journey to begin

How do you know the time has come
For you to make a change
To give yourself all you need
So you can walk away

How do you know when to go
And leave it all behind
To start out fresh with something new
Not knowing what you'll find

How do you know to say enough
You have given all you can
To know inside you did your best
And it's time for different plans

I always said inside you'll know
When that time has finally come
That you'll feel it deep within your soul
And know what must be done

So if for sure that time is now
Then you know what you must do
Turn the page on this book of life
A new chapter just for you

You Just Know

It can be a life change with a divorce a break up or simply a move. Maybe a decision that needs made that you have put off for to long or even a work change. No matter what it is you must go and do what is best for you.

A spring coiled tight.
Taut as a snake with fangs held tight shut.
Twisted nations, playing at war,
War,as never seen before.
Chess is a game of war.
Kings.
Queens.
Bishops.
Knights.
Everyday people.
The warmongers pawns.
Religion features with dem bishops,
Even religion and power feature in the game of chess.
Who has the power?
In the real world.
Darker and heavier.
Descending skies are falling in.
Another war none will win.
Out of man's control.
Dominance.
Destruction.
Magniloquent chess?

beth fwoah dream
carnal scattering of
root and banished leaf,

merely human, the day
spreads maple leaves
like dark gusts of wind.
Biscuit and sorghum syrup happy faces with Georgia peach butter and blackberry muffins , childhood favorites that tickle the palette !
For a bag of Fall persimmons , a handful of roasted pecans I would gladly cross the Alcovy River naked as a jaybird !
Rutabagas , turnips and cracklin cornbread would be my staple of choice if marooned on an island , a Frosty Root beer and mothers egg custard !
Peach ice cream and scuppernong jelly , fig preserves and tomato gravy !
Columbus grits and Claxton fruitcake , Vidalia onion rings , Elijay apples !
In my next life I relish the very thought of becoming a Cardinal , turned loose in a muscadine arbor ! The most heart stopping  , meanest scarecrow ever made would be no match for a wise old crow in a watermelon patch ! Mockingbird busy in a old plum tree , a honeybee in a clover field as far as the eye can see !

Life can be
Such a mess
So get out there
And do your best

You fell down
Well, get back up
I never meant
To be so rough

The world is fast
And it ain't fair
Love is hard
And it's cold out there

Life can be such a mess
It's up to you
To do your best...
