CA Guilfoyle
I went home, it was a long dry stretch of road
walking backwards toward the sun
the red heat dripped and pooled
rested in spaces of backbone
a white hot desert, sand blown
I went searching
beyond denial - to feel
I found lost parts of me
beyond the parch
and peel.

The clouds are blushing
Tonight, a great weary eye
Bloodshot, it weeps above
The unfinished conquering
Of the used, tired, blue earth
And all the sky is pointed tonight,
A bullseye omen bleeds earthwards,
Matadors have red caped the world.

---

black crows fly
flock to the moon
and pick its fields clean
i sit and watch the harvest
as if in a dream

its face is barely visible
its light torn from its eyes
i sit here a'weeping
as it sails the skies

o brave moon!
do not despair!
don't give them a thought!
they may pluck your lighted fields
but their work is all for naught!

later in the evening
i see you have not waned!
as for all the scavengers

not a one remains.

The harvest moon was used
as the name suggests - to reap
the fields at night.

Sitting here in its light
I can see how it was so named
I can almost see every
pebble on the ground.

When from ocean full of tears
leaving behind the sadness
a drop rises pushing behind it's fear
it reaches the heaven
through paths of haziness
and finally comes down
turning into a sweet pearl
on our thirsty face
bringing a smile on
that diligent farmer's face.
Down it goes to the crop roots
and the seeds we did sow
sometimes leaving behind memories
as a vibrant rainbow.
With very less rainfall this year till now, I am scared what all will be affected, hoping for some good amount of rainfall.

~

her coast line feels endless,
her straits and her bays,
each curve of her coves
is guiding the way.
to his infinite tracing,
his breaths and her sighs,
leave their hearts racing,
gives breath-taking rise,
to views borne of heaven,
swept up and then falls,
to the beach where he finds,
her seashell that calls.
his answer she hears
in the voice of his tide,
his infinite strength
she draws to her side;
the laugh of his thunder,
the crash of his roar,
from the crest of his shoulder,
to the breast of her shore;
she melts as he touches
the warmth of her portal,
as she reaches through sands
for his heart and his soul.
an angelic witness
to a union held fast;
his body of water,
her terra firma in clasp.

seashore imagery
clings to this mind...
must be time to take a trip
to the ocean with my love.

Walter W Hoelbling
waking slowly to the singing of birds
after a hard day
      and a late night
finally granted deep sleep
     dreamless in memory
my lazy soul is quite happy
with being
   nowhere in particular
for a while

white walls enhance
   bright spots of sunlight
finding their way
   through time-worn blinds
from the radio alarm
   human voices send sounds
   as comforting and meaningless
   as the song of birds

it takes some time to re-establish
a basic sense of time and place
moving through by now familiar spaces
my eyes record the necessary data
my hands prepare breakfast
my feet take me to the table
my senses register the sight and taste
of coffee and ham and bread
and the luscious
   deep red
   strawberries I bought yesterday

when I kiss you good morning
   on the telephone
hear your voice
and wish you all the best for a day
   of enervating committee meetings
I cannot tell you of my joy
of waking to our world
that holds
    the sun
    the birdsong
    the luscious ripe fruit

you will miss her the most
when you walk through the forest
holding the hand of a girl
who does not like trees

A single clap of thunder, a warning , comes from deep within the horizon
and soon the darkness is upon you as cows bellow in the near distance
the sky looks painful, a bruised blue, spreading overhead, and the storm
cries louder and louder, defying all on Earth to ignore her.
I beg you
don't leave the sky

when dark clouds billow in the south
the weary winged hurry home

overhead on the dead blue
jupiter and venus are born anew

the wind slows to silence
trees loom night's shadowy ghost

nocturnal birds sing on their new day
you feel your breath as they fall

the clouds spread across the sky
cracked by the lightning

a drop lands on your stretched palm
soothes all the burns in you

you melt in love
by the torrents falling from above.

don't leave for shelter
I beg you
when heaven arrives here.

Ellie the heartache
If I were God
My hands wouldn't be big enough to catch all prayers
But my heart would be a reverse black hole of love

If I were God
I would immediately strike down anyone who hurt animals for fun
Or anyone who ***** anyone
Or killed anyone

If I was God
There would be no sin
No greedy people
Because everything would be fine
Lust isn't a sin

Maybe if I were God
Everything would be more peaceful
I just want everything to be happy
Even if I'm not

Write lines upon my heart
in pure white light
and I will read them

Taste the nectar
of unbounded
sincerity

Breathe in blossoming
warm compassion

Taste the nectar
of unbounded
sincerity

Touch the tender pool
of infinite white light

Breathe in blossoming
warm compassion

Taste the nectar
of unbounded
sincerity

Meet me in the air space
between your thoughts
For this is holy ground
With the greatest humility and gratitude, I wish to dedicate this poem tonight to all of you at HP who have shown such lovely support for this quiet poem, which emerged from my deepest inner awareness.
Above all, gratitude to my Teachers.
