twenty dollars
on the curb, on the brink
of being mine
but it's not, i saw it blow
from that old man's older ride

crisp and
it's in my hand, it really is
and then it's right
back into his
"you saw me looking, and-"

for the first time, i receive
a "bless you"
without
having to sneeze

bless that old man instead

Were full of thought,
          but empty of
                 understanding.

A singular drop of knowledge
          can be lost within
a puddle of unknowns.

But a single droplet
            can still make ripples
that show us that waves

don't have to be big, to understand everything.

Spring grants us it's golden daffodils,
swathes of honesty from the window.
Spring is neigh.
The world pledges it's amen.

A new leaf is like an epiphany
Surge bright and strong.
For tomorrow is an awakening,
and tonight tempus fugit.

While I was sleeping
I dreamed of you-- heartache
Of trains going nowhere-- aimlessness
Of my sister-- safety
While I was sleeping
The birds awoke
And sung their lively tune
But when I wake up
I'm never truly awake
I'm always tired, half-awake
Daydreaming of better days.

Whether it's love or leave
That hurts the most

My eyes,
Dead.

Nothing to see
Nothing to relish

My eyes are cast on the ground
Searching for what might bring me - anything

looking and looking
Just to look

My eyes are open,
But I don't see anything.
