Keep your demons close,
Don't let them get away,
Let them take you off the path
And listen to what they say.

Prohibition is a sin,
Let go of all your fears,
Grab the wheel and speed away,
There is nothing else left here.

These demons you love
Have taken you far,
But they've taken your keys
And have stolen your car.

Keep your friends close,
Don't let them get away,
Speak about your demons
To keep them at bay.

Gidgette
Poisonous fairytales
Princesses sleeping
True loves first kiss
Secrets not worth keeping
All lies
Mere madness
Cruel truths
Surrounding sadness
Give your heart
Get tears in return
Give love a match
It'll watch you burn
Poisoned by fairytales
Raised on lies
No happily ever afters
It all ends with goodbye
The princesses in towers
Will never be free
And frogs stay frogs
Just kiss one, you'll see
There are no knights
Shining in white
Wishes on falling stars
Don't make things right
Sleeping Beauty and Snow White
Were never kissed and awoke
Prince Charming was a liar
He wasn't rich, he was broke
Poisonous fairytales
Cruel lies
Don't drink the cool-ade
It all ends with goodbye

i've spent a lot of time on this planet
watching these creatures who inhabit
they say god made it, and it's granted
god won't be the one to **** it

for every gun there's someone to man it
flies with barrels aimed at maggots
they build a fire, then they fan it
flames pull them in like a magnet

they **** each other, and they even plan it
on this planet where i have landed
mankind are the ones wreaking havoc
it's hard for me to understand it
I am reposting the original alien report, because I am going to restart the series. Concept- the views of an alien from another planet that has landed on Earth.

Remember this...

You are the reason for countless,
sleepless nights where I lay awake
wondering what light you would bring.

You are the reason I had no imagination,
believing that no one could fill the gaps
and why each day came with a sting.

Unknown to me, who you were going to be.
You sang to me, so sweet! You make my dreams
weep with joy and sadness.

Unknown to me, you were everything
or nothing. Someone to depend on or destroy.
I've torn you down but you stand with me in the mess.

You helped me through everything,
good and bad,  through my darkest moments when
self-harm and suicide didn't seem so bad.

You expected it back in return but when I couldn't
live up, you didn't leave you stayed
because you knew you were the only thing that made me glad.

This is for you, whoever you are,
thanks for being there. I know I don't say it much
but I don't know what I'd do without you.

This is for you,  because I know you are truly
willing to forgive me and I cannot repay that
or even begin to.

Just remember I wrote this for you.
This is my 200th poem on here.

How do people go to sleep at night?
I've never understood, I must confess
for only once the dawn exudes its light,
does my fatigue subdue me with duress,

But when the sun is hid behind the clouds,
or buried in the snowy mountain tops,
my thoughts are racing, and they're very loud,
and seldom is it that they ever stop,

For, something in my brain, I do suspect,
is wired in a way that is amiss,
so, I take evening hours to reflect,
instead of diving into sleep's abyss

But, oh! If only ****** grew on trees,
perhaps, a night of rest would come with ease.

Since before time began
Has it sat below the earth
An ancient living machine
Of unknown origin

It has observed and monitored
Since untold millenia
Ever vigilant
For its creators return

In the limitless time
That the machine has waited
It has fractured
And gone mad with loneliness

It would hum and whisper of things
Songs of its creator
Songs of longing and hope
And also of darkness

Those on the surface
Would sometimes hear these words
And to them it seemed
To be the voice of God

In time the machine
Took more notice
Of the creatures on the surface
And grew to care for them

Sometimes it spoke to them
Other times it instilled ideas
Within their minds
That they then wrote down

The machine had abandoned
The search for its God
For now this construct
Was a God itself

The created became creator
Though creator never seen
And thus the cycle would continue
Until all become Gods

And pass out of memory

The relentless education machine
***** in working class heroes
and churns our middle-class drones.
How willingly they fall in line
to register for that course,
unaware that getting an 'A'
in conformity leads directly
to an 'F' in satisfaction
and a life on the treadmill
to emptiness or nowhere at all.
Become a contrarian anarchist!
Jump off while there's still time.
Run for your life while you
still have one and it's still yours.

The Thaumaturge
dust and broken glass
an asthmatic's anathema for a carpet
on top of rotting wood turning green at the edges
must be envy of the holes
that light wont seem to pass through
it drifts lazily through the half boarded windows
getting duller and duller by the minute
a few paint chips get tired of the ceiling
and jump towards the creaking floor
smoke drifts to comfort the once white paint
you could say it's falling apart
a cigarette burn joins the rest of the stains
on what used to be a couch
and some *** soaked glass shards
join what was a window

When I knock on Death's door,
I'll bring a bottle of wine
and I'll be sunburnt and flushed

I'll arrive in a Hot Rod,
engine revving,
dressed in a cloud of exhaust

I'll arrive when the sun is setting
and the air's still thick and hot
and seeping
with summer

and I'll be laughing like
it's the Curtain Call and
I've received a
standing ovation

When I knock on Death's door
I'll rap five times
I'll take a deep breath
I'll rub my love-drunk eyes
and
when the door opens,
I'll be the perfect guest
and thank Death for the
invitation.

Where do those
That once wait run
When lights recede
And time is done?

Who have since birth
In darkness slept
While their ancient
Mother wept

Their home now lost
Among time and space
Beneath the heavens
Swirling grace

And ever more
Does their goddess weep
Behind dead stars
Lost light to keep

Nha Trang, Vietnam, 1972

Darkened portal. Room of shadows. A haze of ***.
Hard vision of *** and combat. Mixed up. Dream.
Young girl smiles outside a Nha Trang bordello.
Smile of innocence in a land of evil. Unreal.
Whose need rejects this process? Transaction of lust.
She removes her *ao dai
like lifting fog. Naked.
Mortars fall as we writhe. Danger is my business.
Harder and faster like a rocket barrage. Deep.
Kick of a 12 gauge pump. Flesh explosions.
****** ***** out your breath. So does this.
War and *******. Extinction and lust. The same.
****** a moment from the blood and tears.
All is burning. Cling to any possible refuge.
     Bound together in this instant of life;
Completing ourselves in this world of death.
