Hazy summer dreams of Independence Day,
Sitting in a field and an alcove of trees
Watching fireflies and fireworks
With nothing but a peace pipe and the pleasure
Of each other's company.

Four in the morning blues
Writing music inspired by
The light reflecting off her box wine,
Bird feathers and new frontiers.
Four in the morning band practice
Where the kitchen was filled with
Jaw harps and nose flutes and ukuleles.
She hated the fact that the string bassist
Parked right in front of the fridge.

Sun-drenched days of exploring
And picking mulberries from the
Fallen tree at the creek.
They tried to make pen ink from it,
Once.

Dreams of open mic nights with
Milkshake stouts and summer sweat
But never once complaining
Because the air felt so electric
And full with the sound of kindred souls.
Place closed down since then,
But she won't forget the time she was
Asked to stay on stage when her set was done.

Maybe they're all romanticized, but
These memories stick like push pins
In her mind, in her heart.
There was something more authentic
About it all -
All those days of watching
Fireworks and fireflies.
Something real, and true.
Something changed, shifted in the universe.

Maybe it was her.
Guess I'm stumbling down memory lane, tonight.

The world's greatest scientists have confirmed that the
World will end tomorrow
We and the world will in an instant
Become trillions of scattered atoms

World leaders have called for an emergency meeting
To be held early next month
To try to find ways to avert this catastrophic event

In the most random place
In the middle of no where
I met a boy
Who turned out to be a nightmare

In a room filled with others
I felt something strange
To look up and across the room at someone
Who seemed to already know me
As my eyes met his
It felt like we were staring for days
And in that moment I knew
Everything was about to change

What felt like hours had passed
Seconds went by
Until the person I was talking to
Snapped me back to real life

I detached from his eyes suddenly
Then looked back that way
He was walking out of the room
When somebody called his name

He seemed displeased to take me
Where I needed to go
And the whole car ride there
He made me feel so uncomfortable

Feeling like a burden
Until we reached the destination
I quickly reached for the door
Then he asked to see me again...

The next time we met
A rush jolted through me
And every time after we parted
Felt like a sad story

This was all so unplanned
And I was lying to myself
Made myself believe
That I was ready for someone else

I thought I fell in love
But realized I only just fell
I hit the ground face first
And it hurt like hell

He didn't really want me
He only wanted to have me
A possession he could call his
Put me in his pocket and keep me
Just quick thoughts about a memory

magnetized, i stand,
muse of far off lands,
as for nourishment i reach,
these remind of thee;
reflections each are we,
soldiers all... sailors,
tossed about on stormy sea,
thirsty souls in paper boats,
as, in need of simple hope
each the other read,
you... my poetic anchor be;
as another’s soil i dream;
like magnets on my fridge
your words on page, my bridge
doorway to the heart of thee.

to my poet friends, both known
and unknown with most un-met... yet,
this rambling spilled
as i reached this morning for
nourishment from my refrigerator
after reading your many wonderful
and uplifting writes.
my new profile pic
helps to tell the story.

wishing you peace
on this Memorial Day weekend...
may those lost to thee,
ever rest in peace!

(Memorial Day- a designated day
in the US for remembrance
of those beloved souls
whom we lost too soon.)

love to you...
each and every one,
old friends and new!

GOT GREAT FEEL
When I Become A Teacher
Because It Gave Me Space To Move With My Own Teacher
When moving with my own teacher as a teacher felt very happy...
Still today i stood when my teacher crosses me. i think they thought this  way of  respecting others...Thank them all...
Thank God for giving such teachers...

Lets go for a joy ride
I want to take you on a trip
Straight down enormity
I'm talking grand larceny
Trespassing
You know
A little vandalism
Here and there
I think
It'll be fun
To raid someone's home
Degrade their throne
Take what's theirs
And break their phones
Lets not care for fear
We have no time for tears
Just spit in their face
And tear up the place
Paint the ceilings red
if you have too
Just don't forget
To spray the walls
Along with each door
Because we can't leave any
Witnesses
We're still going to need a few
Graves to **** on
My crack at the crimespree challenge.

Catch them

The subtle grabs of thought
Those judgments
And opinions

Those contractions
That divide us

Catch them
And release them

Return again to
quiet mind

I saw
An ant
A walk
Along
A grain
Of yellow
Sand

And as
He walked
I sang
To him
An ant-hymn
To him sing

Oh ant
Oh ant
I see
You crawl
As here
I stand
So straight
So tall

Oh ant
Oh ant
Yet as
You crawl
I am
Not seen
By you
At all

Oh ant then
Ant then
Who is small?
