He has no use for them now,
so he opened this shoppe.
The sign there says, "OPEN,"
but no soul dares stop.

Through the translucent windows
the townsfolk walk past.
On the dusty wood floors,
all their shadows are cast.

Lining stone walls
are the rusted old toys,
some all-telling relics
from a hopeful young boy.

The patrons just see
some tainted old junk,
in a shop being run
by some lonely old drunk.

No one buys what he sells,
so he silently cries;
A little boy hidden
behind those old, mist shrouded eyes.
Just a poem about my fear of growing old.  Wasted potential and alcoholism are common themes in my family. I don't want to end up like the rest.

You exploded in my life
like someone finally threw back the curtains
on my darkness

I remember that crooked grin
Knowing more than you said
And saying more than you knew

I never understood though
What I'd gotten myself into
When I fell for you

Nine years later I look back
Five and a half years I gave you
Do you realize that?

I kept my virginity
You still stole my innocence
When you made my mind your Playground

Then you left it broken
Forgotten and abandoned

Jami Samson
Sir James Matthew Barrie;
My childhood savior,
At last we meet.
I embarked on a journey
To seek out what you said
Would be an awfully big adventure
And gracious me, you were more than right!
This is a paradise.
Again, you saved my life.
Thanks for showing me the way out.

For every girl who was a "*****"
    because she said no to a boy;
For every girl who was a "****"
    because she said yes.

For every girl who was "asking for it"
    because she wore a short skirt;
For every girl who was a "*****"
    because she wore a long one.

For every girl who was a "challenge"
    because she liked other girls;
For every girl who was "easy"
    because she liked both.

For every girl who was "fat"
    because she had dessert;
For every girl who was "anorexic"
    because she didn't.

For every girl who was "insecure"
    because she wore make-up;
For every girl who was "ugly"
    because she didn't.

For every girl who smiled
    because she thought she was pretty;
For every girl who cried
    because she was told she wasn't:

Here’s to you.
