absentmindedly picking individual notes
plucking the ole acoustic
fingerpicking style
she moves into the room
silently
and sits alongside me
right on the dog hair coated floor
and hums along
as if it were an actual written tune
softly I feel her head light upon my shoulder
and my heart nearly skips one beat –
waxing, planetary
odd moonlight—

the faces are whetted to diamonds.
the paralytic shadow begins
to twitch;

benign light froths to full afternoon,
this sedentary creature in between teeth,
a clear consonant of dull air.

thereby gleaming, tapered to
a nightingale's song;
i take my place amongst the elements
of night: as if to say a new portrait in mausoleum crossed by grass and aureole

the laughter shattering its dull one—
a lurid memory, all to itself amongst
kindred of parks.

Life kicked me
in the teeth
and gave me
a black eye
I grinned back
with a ****** smile
and winked
my good eye

RH 78
He laid waste everything in his way.
The fierce smiling gentle giant.
Ball in hand and try after try opponents brandished him a freak wishing he'd go away.
Crowds did gather to bear witness to his talents as he lit up the world taking rugby to a whole new level.
Hailed an All Black great and a global phenomenon.
I will never forget you Jonah Lomu.
Felt compelled to put pen to paper after hearing of the Sad death of rugby legend Jonah Lomu. One of my favourite players.
A brave man who suffered from a rare kidney disease which ultimately cut his life short.
His rugby prowess forever etched in the memory of anyone who witnessed him bursting onto the world stage as the youngest ever All Black player during the 1994 rugby World Cup.

Rest in peace human bulldozer thanks for the memories!

Poetic T
early dawn rises
bluebells elegantly chime
breeze awakes petals
seeds of doubt are sown in the dark patches
of soil beneath my eyes,
the winter frost seeps color
from my once rosy cheeks,
bruises bloom on my knees from greeting
the bathroom floor too many times,
lines of red poppy flowers grace
my rib cage.
You can't survive on energy drinks and all nighters alone,
You need someone to love you too.
Be safe. Be well. Be kind.
