Valentines is Dead

Sometimes my sky's  the ceiling of a planetarium dome
Enveloping my tiny world'
The moon hangs low-
A lantern for the streets
In our snow globe world.
Contained
Compact
And wrapped in local clouds by day.

Both eyes in play - the vision slips
and now I know the nearest star is countless  miles away
And Alice- like I shrink.
A camera, carried high sees me, my home, my town
Resume their truthful place upon the globe;
A dot, if that, a fleeting speck in time no more.
Look up and up and endless up, beyond the plastic dome
To endless possibilities and none.
the smell of cigarettes and cheap cologne
the length of legs, the depth of eyes
more medical trips and taxicab drives
blood tests, x-rays, candy bars from vending machines
visitors in lab coats
questions
touches
from cold metal, cold skin
antiseptic aromas
waiting in cold rooms, in backless hospital gowns
a flash of skin from the hot patient
next to me, an inviting smile
a ***** of crotches
a wheelchair comes
to take me
away

Sam
Positive words of wisdom,
spread through the cool, dry air.
Feeling the whispering wind,
brush swiftly across my hair.

Daffodils spreading sunshine,
Roses giving warmth,
Orchids beaming bright
continuing to sway back and forth.

A beautiful lotus gleaming above all,
floating in the sparkling pond.
The sun glistens in the water below,
radiating across, far and beyond.
I finally have happiness-I'm not letting people drag me down.

Gidgette
Twisted,
Though to you it may seem
This is my idea of love
My silly dream

Having someone to eat cheap fast food with
Arguing over the remote
Tell me I look pretty
Even when I don't

Someone to ask if I'm ok
When they know I'm feeling sick
And be understanding
On days when I'm a *****

He wouldn't have to like my mother
Hell, I barely do
Just look me in the eyes
And always tell the truth

Someone to hold my hair back
When I've had too much to drink
Take the time to listen
To the crazy things I think

Dance with me in the living room
Pick me up when I fall
And if it's not too much to ask
Answer, when I call

Someone to sing in the car with me
Who doesn't care I sound like a wailing cat
Stay up late at night and laugh with me
And when they leave, know they'll be back

Yes, twisted,
To you though it may seem
But that's my idea of love
My silliest of dreams:)

Happy.....Tuesday.

Gidgette
My reality is fake
Stuff my mouth with bittersweet cake
Come here you, and take
All of me that's left
Pick me like crows
Because only God knows
You put out, my flames that glow
And I SCREAM!!!
In silence
At the violence
You bestowe
Upon me
And God knows
The godless heavens see
What you don't
Things that you won't
Make of me what you will
The empty sky will pay the bill
