It's a story that no one wants to hear
Because it pulls ******* the heart strings
And it was hard
Very hard to see her go
Just laying there, eyes open, lifeless
That awkward position
Sometimes she laid like that
And I would wait for her to breathe
Wait to see her little chest expand and then compress once more
I would hold my own breath waiting
Scared that she might not be breathing
She was old and it was time
But the decision was hard
Some days she seemed alright but others she was a mess
But we finally let her go
It was hard to see her go

Nandini
There are poetic whispers
in your kohl rimmed eyes.
I"m always washed away on their shores
we kept looking at each other to let our eyes whisper secrets....

The sideline view
Of a poet's life.
Topics free falling
In ranks of predictable verse.
Lacking vitality,
Inspirations disperse.

My thoughts wander.
Vibrating to the hum of
Flourescent lights above,
As the cursor blinks
In hypnotic rhythm.
Drawing me into
The pale blank screen
And beyond.

Falling once again
Into daydreams
Of her golden hair glowing
In Autumns waning light.
Hands merged in a gentle grip
Warming the evening chill
With a soft peck of our lips.

Longing in stillness,
Attending in silence,
The cursor, again, must wait
The many pensive stages
In a poet's futile task of
Placing verses on pages.

In my Garden
at the night
a lover wakes up
to the sight

Of Twinkling Stars
and Dazzling Moon
he sings a song
and plays a tune

laden with dew
amidst the green grass
he calls out to his beloved
she's a beautiful lass

he sings the mating song
in a sweet gentle croon
comes hopping down to him
his lover so swoon

A serenade of love
rings through the night
the music plays
till the morning light
Inspite of the stillness
I couldn't sleep
thinking of her
lost in memories deep

My heart is craving for her
singing a calling song
my voice unheard
it's forgotten long

Will she ever see
the love in my eyes?
the silent sighs
my chirps and cries?

I know what time it is
At your place five past three
Night’s thinning for goodbye kiss
You are sunk in poetry!

Moon seeks recline to west
Stars are craving dawn of sun
Yet your mind hasn’t found rest
Chasing words on the free run!

Go to sleep angel tarry not
Before the fire burns you whole
For the coming day spare a thought
Close eyes till the night is coal!

You need to stop before hours grow small
Birds wake up in dewy rain
Rest my angel can’t catch them all
Your poems of joy and pain!

Marian
I sat down with you
In the coolness of the night air
Watching you sip Dr. Pepper
After a long day's work
I listened to the sounds of summer
Watched a few stars twinkling
In the jet colored sky
We were happily chit-chatting
About this and that
We were all together
Just us three
Oh, those summer evenings
Gone forever
Only shadows remain
Touching my heart
