Vela Feb 2018
Voices chatter
Metallic clinks and soft jazz
Waft through the room
Sipping my coffee
I watch the sun beams
Slowly burn the fog away
The world comes into focus
I take another sip
Vela Sep 2019
I’m finally growing into myself
My limbs are sturdy and unwavering
My head is held high and proud
When I breathe I know I have things to work on
I know I have more to learn
More to gain
More to change
But for some brief minutes I am enough
And I want to make those minutes stretch
Vela Feb 2018
Warmth
Shatters
Into cold shards
Stuck in my
Gut
And my
Soul

I was warm before
Now I feel cold
Vela Nov 2017
Galaxies in her mind
Constellations in her eyes
Shooting stars
Fell from the lashes
Vela Jan 2020
there are daffofils in my mind
they grew slowly
hour by hour
from the moment i left
to this moment now
daffodils remind me
that spaces which were once dark
and hopeless
can be something more
i'm feeling broken
but good things are sprouting through the cracks
what a wonderful thing
to know that i'll be fine

There’s a sailor
Sailing oceans that are you
Oceans deep and oceans blue
Depths unseen and fathoms below
You hold mysteries, boundless,
The echo of time resounds
The waters are still
Quiet
Serene

And so are you
And so am I
Vela Nov 2017
All caught up in autumn's breeze
Rosy pink blossoms along her cheeks
She’s feverish

Bare feet, cold against the pavement
Face framed by undone waves and
She’s feverish

Hair down to her hips
Her hands in fists
She’s feverish

And that fever is you
Vela Oct 2017
You left love notes
Written along my ribcage
You said the spaces
Made perfect lines for poetry
My skin still remembers
Even after I washed you off
Vela Sep 2019
the night was black with starlight
black and blue galaxies
sprawled across my skin
tear drops glittered, shooting stars caught in my lashes
your lips brush mine lightly
pink and yellow flowers tell me you’re sorry
I hold them to my chest like I’m gluing my heart back together
the bad days are over

at least thats what you tell me
Vela Feb 2018
Wordless
We fell back
Soothing subtleties
In the touch of
Finger tips against
Faces

Was there ever a time before this?
Vela Feb 2018
The butterflies in my stomach
Carry switch blades

I never learned to knife fight
Vela Jan 2020
we contain galaxies in our eyes
our brain cells, different infinities
the universe is mapped in our dna
we are one with the trees
the earth
the moon
the stars

we are made from
carbon
and star dust

but when i hold your hand
i swear theres only one world
held together by your eyes
