Sometimes, the jade air
Sometimes, the forest’s verdant breath
Sometimes, the moss pond
and the frog’s plonked exclamation.
Sometimes, the confused helix
of crossed branches, the sun’s
enduring eye, blinded here and there
by the cliff’s stern countenance.

Each of these can manifest
as the soul’s reflection,
For how else could it know
its own existence?

Only chance can help
the soul to find its way
through heaven’s web of lumens
and planets’ eternal orbits,
an endless procession
of hollow moments to be filled
by a sudden eclipse of expectation,
a quick downpour of regret,
a shadow of fear, a memory exhumed.

Yet the final rush
of enlightened immersion
is only a license to begin again.

They say
"It's not the right time,"
but there has never been a time
I need him more

They say
"He's not the right guy,"
but the ache in my chest
tells me I'm done for

not matter how they say it
my heart won't believe them
it longs for him
while I lay on the floor

Will become your halo
They note leaves /

But not people /

You see the sun but do not mention the son. How then do ye proclaim to be one?

.

Some of them were strangers

Some of them were without any rule

None of them would see another tomorrow

And if the innocent are guilty

Of the crimes they are harboring within

Then what are the chances in the hands of the convicted

There in the tiredness of what resignation brings

In the rejection of your everything

When the dawn draws close with no exceptions

Some of them were crying

Some of them stood brave

In the end it just didn't matter . . .

All of their dreams came tumbling down

All of their love would soon expire

And the void in the midst of the distance left not a sound

As the earth swallowed all that mattered

It covered all of their future faults

Leaving the fresh dirt of new direction

Some of them were young

Some of them were old

Some of them were men and the others were women

Some of them were just in the wrong location

Maybe they had the wrong face of denial

Just maybe in memory they will not be forgotten

For being guilty of being innocent

You are stronger than you believe,
faster than you seem,
sharper than you think,
and more beautiful than you can see.
