Match the sleep up to the fire,
Words alight in bareface glow.
Take your knees and hold them tight,
Tonight's the night that Dragons fight.

By the river lives are woven;
Fabric soft and hugs the skin.
As the shadows dance about,
Throw their arms and scream and shout.

Froth at the shore - take care!
Who'll hold you back from the tale?
Don't lose any grief.
Each story's a thief.
Each story's a thief.

There is a place I think of last
Before each night and day,
Where night is green and never black
When all else turns to grey.

Here the river flows as if
Each gurgle were its first
And bamble sleepy insects might
Adance, alight, athirst.

The moss-hugged giants curl their toes
And lead them down to shore.
Ta-woo, Ta-woo, the tawny goes
Before he hunts for more.

The fullest moon, or thinnest yet,
Contented with its fill,
Grows fat on sight of river night
And lets its bounty spill.

And, lo! Take care! Don't scare it so...
The pearl of heaven falls
And leaps about the laps and waves
While the 'hopper calls.

Sparkling droplets take their rests
By friends lost in the day.
Chatter, chuckle, laugh they will;
Happy, oh so gay!

They wind around my feet, aflare,
Carrying their gifts.
Given all to waterfall
As my mind becomes the drifts

As my breath becomes the wind,
As my eyes become the deep.
As shadows o'er the shallows skip
I shall live and never sleep.
Inspired by a sentence from Three Men in a Boat, believe it or not. Haven't written anything in a while. Just letting you guys know I'm still writing :)

Sea
The willow trees chime in the stream
White foam makes muddy leaves ******
Feet pad ahead

Not so much a levy
Take earth to find jackets and ties for the sea
Sand sighs for us

It's all a little late
For the seagull, for it has already
Flown out to find us

On the gusts of the sun
Hello again!

Come let’s follow the path
to a heart beat in blossom
Dance in the streets
of a new foreign town

Drink to the evening
with moon beams now swaying
Under the stars
when there’s no one around

Singing a song
to a melody’s whimper
Sigh on the eve
of our first kiss delight

Walk hand in hand
down the road to forever
Sit by the ocean
be one with the night

Cling to a dream
we’ll relive in the morning
Capture the breeze
that does tickle your hair

Swim in the love
that now washes our bodies
Find everyday
*is a new one to share

Joy, what will you do if there is a heaven?
Love it like a son.
And what will happen if I am not there?
Then the family will be broken.

And what are we?
Going to die.
When?
When we will.

So who should we be?
Heaven.
So who is our father?
**My love, I would have no other, but you.

Sometimes thoughts get wishy
Washy too, I feel,
And they take a little more to
Get to you.

Believe me, I know some things,
We're sure of that
And you and I
Are something

Something borrowed
Something broken
Something taken
Something loved

It's a little more than love
It's understanding
It's being in exactly the same wrong place
At the horribly wrong time.

Don't miss me,
Don't weep
Your tears make me thirsty
Your dry mouth makes me smile.

So remember,
I will come round again
When the turns in the green country lanes
Grow just so.
Something I just blurted out. It's an apology to all of you great poets out there. I haven't been reading (or writing) as many poems as I should have lately. I've been very busy, but I'll be back soon, my lovely poets.
