I Knew
Piscean Dragon Jan 2018
He has always been Musical.
From the minute I heard his
Perfect
  Fast
    Rhythmic
      Heartbeat
I knew he’d inherit
My musicality.

He has always been active.
From the moment I felt him
   Flutter
The instant I felt him
    Kick
The second I felt him
      Sway
My entire stomach
I knew he’d inherit
My strength.

I have always loved him.
Since the evening I learned
He was here
He was  with me
He was      Part of me
I knew I’d been given
A gift.
Calling my son a gift is an understatement. He is a literal lifesaver. Thank you for giving me purpose and love, baby bear.

Drinking Poison
Piscean Dragon Dec 2017
Jordan can drink poison
She gulps it down real quick.
She gives a smile
As people wait
To see if she’ll be sick.
Some people swallow swords
Some others can eat fire,
But no better act
Have I seen yet
Than Jordan swallowing ire

Who’s voice is it that

Fuels
Your
Perceptions?
A couple of years ago, I had a therapist who asked me who’s voice I heard when I received intrusive, negative thoughts. It was my own. Realizing that opened my eyes to how harshly I criticize myself compared to others.

Ghosts
Piscean Dragon Nov 2019
I lay awake most nights
Wondering what happened to you.

How on earth did someone
So good
So kind
So funny
So sweet

Turn into such a pathetic,
Malleable *******?

I lay awake most nights
Wondering what happened to me.

How on earth I allowed someone to
Steal from me
Lie to me
Manipulate me
Guilt trip me

And make me question
If I’m somehow the villain.

I don’t have the will to sleep tonight.
I don’t know how to shake these ghosts.
Ex lovers
Ex friends
Ex versions of you
Ex versions of me

Ex people we promised
We would become for each other.
