The most useful lesson
conveys itself in the shadow of your words,
hidden,
waiting for me to catch on

I am smart,
and I'm kind.
I've got a beauty that's all mine.
I am worthy.
I'm enough.
I am deserving of healthy love.
I am happy,
and I'm calm.
I can right all of my wrongs.
I will succeed.
I will endure.
I will live life feeling secure.  
I can do this,
you can too.
This poem is for me,
but also you.

I am tired of giving
and lending, comforting
to never try

just sick of breaking
and betting, gambling
but not to cry

if only I could sleep
and dream, resting
without this drug

to receive is wishing
and pleading, exhausting
all my might

if this is living
then it is not worth it
I'd rather lie

my words are incoherent
verbose, assaulting
may it survive

There's a cloud over me
Thunder rumbles its calling
A painted sky is free
So are the millions of flowers

It's the sweetest thing
To be near you
When the day is done
Your kisses feel soft as the rain

Being away with you
In some distant bench
Near a crescent lake
Where the sun doesn't set

lying under this blanket
i feel warmer than usual.
maybe there's some version of me out there
who, right now, is lying
in the embrace of a loved one.

some version of me who's doing better.
some version of me who's doing worse.
i feel somewhere inside me
envy towards that peaceful person.

but if that me can live joyfully,
so too can this me.
