My precious miracle
You were born on a cold October night
My beautiful baby boy
God gave me you
to fill my world
With happiness and joy

Throughout your life you struggled,
Many trials, you had to face
But with each battle,  you stood strong
Through God's amazing grace

Your brightest light, and faith in God
You shared with those you met
Changed many lives, and filled us all
With a love we won't forget.

Micah, your love changed me and for my life you were "God's Will"
My love for you goes on and on,
My sweet boy, my miracle.

I love you Micah, always and forever,  I know that you're dancing in the sky, and singing in the angels choir. I love you my miracle boy,
my Micah-man, sing a song for me up in heaven.....
Love mommy xoxo

I'll always remember...
I'll never forget you
But I'm scared that they will
Those lives that you touched
Have lives to live still

I can't really blame them
You were my precious light
But those who just knew you
Out of mind out of sight

I know that I really
Shouldn't think this  but still
I see that their lives
Have to move on and will

As your mom I'm aware
That I loved you the most
But as the days and years go by
To them you're a ghost

I know that this won't be
An intentional thing
But there's thousands of new memories that the passing time brings

But you'll always be here in my heart and my mind
And your precious light
Will shine for all time.

Written with all my love for Micah Daniel,  my son, my bright light,  my miracle....

You weren't there in the hospital room,
on the day my life began,
you even missed the very first time
I crawled, or walked, or ran.

You never got the chance to help, when I cried my childhood
tears,
you never saw me growing up, and you missed my teenage years.

On the very day you came along, I knew my life was changed,
from the moment that you married my mom, my world was rearranged.

You welcomed me with open arms, and I knew your love was real,
because it was never just words that you said, it was a love that I could feel.

You WERE there in the hospital room,
when my daughter's life began,
you watched her grow and helped us both, as she
crawled, and walked, and ran.

You gladly took the important role, of "Papa" in my kids life,
you've always shown your support and your love,
when our world held turmoil and strife.

You've seen me through the hard times
with your wisdom, advice, and love,
and I know without a shadow of doubt, you were sent from God above.

I know you missed my early days, but you're the father I never had,
I love you more than words can express,
you're my hero, my friend, my dad.

THE NEED FOR PEACE
Melissa Phillips Oct 2020
I look around the world todayand see the pain and strife,
it's then I am so thankful for my ordinary life.

There are those who choose to terrify this world we're living in,
violence and guns that take the lives of the innocent ones within.

So much hatred running rampant,
the sound of war is ringing loud,
and we can't help but notice the darkening of the clouds.

There are children who are crying in the streets we walk upon,
with no one there to hold them at the breaking of the dawn.

All around us we see people
who could use a helping hand,
just words of encouragement, someone there to understand.

Homeless people, single mothers,
starving children cry in vain,
depressed people with no answers,
all cry out with a voice of pain.

What will it take for us to see, the answer's still unknown,
in order to achieve world peace,we have to start right here at home!
This is the first poem I have had the courage to share with anyone but family! I welcome your thoughts,  comments and critiques!
