Even as kings we rise to fall.
Every step we take closer to our destiny.
Lovers leave, wages are held,
To play this guessing game.
Even as kings we rise to fall
It's always been this way.
A questioned face staring back.
An open door lays before you.
How do we move forward?
A closed fist to fight the way.
Long live our kings!
May they forever fight the rise and fall,
Forever and again.

We're living to die
And dieing to live.
I hope you forgive
All those things that I did.
I'll look to the sky,
And I'm asking why
Do we get so focused on the questions,
That we look past the answers.
They gave you their confessions,
To lesson their sentence.
Digging through sorrows
Waiting for tomorrow's,
That will never be there.
So give him the care,
That he really needs.
It wasn't all there,
In the stems and seeds.
Let's learn and let grow,
Cuz we're letting go.

Your a dream. A mystery.
Will you be my personal
Nightmare?

If I get lost, promise you'd leave me be
Let me walk alone in my circles
I'll find my way back...almost instinctively
Through looping thoughts and scribbles

If I should trip, promise you'd let me fall
Scrape my knee and scream a voiceless scream
Weight of the universe may seem crushing to shoulders so small
I'll walk it off and regain newfound steam

If I show signs of buckling, promise you'd let me collapse into nothing
Let me fold into myself...into an unnoticeable speck
There is solace in this space when the walls are caving
Soon I would reinvent and renew from that wreck

If I suffer a cut, promise you'd just let me bleed
Let the black of my soul gush out
Within it I would find the seed
To which all of my rantings are about

If I should begin to write, promise you'd read my scrawls
Take them as they are and not to heart
Just thoughts versus words that mean much or nothing at all
They'd stitch me anew when I start to break apart

If I keep losing myself, promise that you'd let me be
The circles I tread are very much predictable
They'd always lead me around... Don't treat me differently
Just stay where you are... I'll come back round, fresh and able...

You are your heartache
You are your mistake
You are your destiny
You are your catastrophe

Your thoughts are your poison
Transmuting to mindless action
Your words your dagger
That yourself can only conquer

You are the world you create
You are the answers you await
Be your own mentor, hero and friend
For the one who makes your life is you
In the end.

What's in his mind?
One cup of labor
Two scoops of pain
Three scoops of lust
Issues with trust
Four cups of distress
One more for the rest
And five milligrams
of pessimism at best

What's in his heart?
One tablespoon of pride
Two teaspoons of shame
A spoonful of ambition
One third expedition
Two-thirds of abolition
A half a cup of absentee
Another half depravity

What's in his soul?
A recipe I have yet to know
This was fun, I hope I did swell. Here's a link for the instructions to this challenge. http://hellopoetry.com/poem/1042851/the-recipe-challenge/

Next time you make an empty promise
Shatter it against the concrete
And rip open my flesh with the sharpest point,
Pour salt in my wounds
And leave me to rust.
And then tell me again
How it pains you to see me suffer.
Darling, all this time you were killing two birds
With one stone,
But since when can I fly?
