For reason I hope
You can understand
I can only be
Your back door man
A single shot of liquor
A one night stand
I’ll keep coming back
Again and again
So Leave your door ajar
Your bedroom window wide
I Will always be
Right outside

To me, from me

Dear past me,
I found a suggestion to write to our future self.
And, after much thought and deliberation, I found myself unable to thinks of us further than today.
Although, the past you and present me converge today, we both understand, that even now, our future is uncertain. And, it's all down to present me.

So, dear possible future,
there's a few things I know:

I know the sky is blue; sometimes.
The day before today was yesterday and after will be tomorrow. But yesterday is now certain. Written down on a rock. It is now a fixed point of life.
But tomorrow may not come. The sun not rise nor the moon fall.

Tomorrow is the great perhaps.
Sleeping; waiting to be awaken.
We are Schrodinger's cat. Both alive and dead inside the box of tomorrow.

That even if I can't see myself further than today;
here's to the things written and unwritten,
to the you before and the me after.
Here's to the great perhaps and maybe of tomorrow,
To the us who know,
and the uncertainty of now.
That to whatever yesterday decided,
tomorrow might forgive us.
Here's to the fine line between the past and future,
that it might meet our present and if not-
that it will remember us even if just today.

Here's to us,
anywhere in time.

Is there a cover charge
A fee at the door
A price they say we all must pay
If we're to get along

Do we need to show I.D.
Proof of who we are
Sign a pledge of promise kept
For this and so much more

Is there a certain pass
That they give out freely
To all of those that are running low
Till we're back on our feet

Do we need a body guard
With their own chaperon
Someone with clout to help us out
So we all get along

Voice calls gently in the night
mind awakens lucid flight
gazing from Orion's shores
Angels open dreamscape doors
shadows cross the face of Mars
lovers count the falling stars
Sun evokes a gentle breath
to mark another twilight's death
awaken dreamer to morning's light
dreams rest silent til birth of night
oldie re-worked

Some men pine away,
Others pick themselves up, grieving
To shake themselves as if to say,
"That chapter now is ending,
And I must on my way"?

One man mourns her loss as though
The universe is ending;
Drowns himself in alcohol,
Defeated, hopeless, misery unending.

Another plunges into work,
You'd never know an inner ache
Had driven him berserk;
We watch to see a crack or break,
But nothing seems to lurk.

Another builds a monument so fine,
Resurrects her beauty high above
Whatever glory she had once refined...
No ending to his paeans of love.

Other men find loneliness intolerable,
Run off in search of other loves to fill the void,
Besmirch her memories ineffable,
Remarry only to become annoyed.

"Most men must suffer when alone":
A rule to write on stone eternal,
While human love is flesh and bone,
Romantic love transcends supernal.
Thinking and observing....

Find everyone's escape
Take their advantage away
In the brush
Stripes camouflage
There Shadow's highlights
Mix and fuse
Confuse the mind's eye
Into the whorl of
Leaves limbs and refuse
Into too much data
Therefore I go
Tripping a light
With gray shadow
With an array of quick
Hand moves
Stealthy crawls
The depth calling
Out wild
Inside me without
An
Enemy
Nor friend or foe
But Destiny
