Star Gazer
I saw a world in your eyes
Broken pillars, dilapidated buildings
Dead batteries, and broken ceilings.
I saw a painful burning empty sky
I saw little boys and girls cry
I saw all losses no winning,
Children death and soldier killings
I saw the pain inside your eyes.

I held you together from crumbling
And as the skies started to clear up
I saw volcanos reverse erupt
And the ground wasn't rumbling.
In my arms, you saw a future with me
And all I could see the seeds of a new tree.
It's raining here, but my mind is
crystal clear and I am sharp,
looking glass smart,
I see, record, remember.

1, 270,564 neurons fire simultaneously
each one a rocket ship that arcs through me
and into my memory.

I resound with the sound of the echoes all around the
falling of the drops and as it starts it just as suddenly stops.

In my eyes which become cameras catching images, making more memories are the galaxies and behind each retina a patina put there by age.

It's raining and then it's not and the memory is what I've got for a Summer day, hot out on the clay, just a reminder that behind a curtain of dust and decay is where we all will lay one day.

Uncertainty is death for me and
ignorance gives no peace,
I release internal chemicals
firing on all particles
and sign my name in
the articles
of faith.

And if faith is all we are to be
shot by a random shooting star
we might as well retire
and let the neurons fire
away.

bones
We danced toward
each other's wounds

with gentle step
and touched inside

and now the bleeding
has resumed

and all this blood
is hard to hide.

I could destroy the whole and blow the ashes on your face while we look at the stars.
I could pick up every broken piece and throw it back to you to remind of us.
I could call the executioner and tell him to knock your guts out.
I could set fire to a forest but you'd sing as the leaves disappeared.
I could drown our love in River Styx and maybe it would come back stronger.
You make me whimper with pain
so now I join the broken pieces of the universe forming your name.
What about love
what about independence
what about dreams
what about the universe
what about the big blue sky
what about coming over
what about it

misleading yourself
editing reality
is a slow poison
try to see things as they are
the biggest loss you should fear
is losing yourself

Sad? Don’t eat.
Upset? Grab a drink.
Hell, do both
And try not to think.

Stay up late? Work in 2 hours.
Angry? Get laid.
Do whatever it takes
To get yourself paid.

But in the end, don’t worry about me.
This too will pass, because I want to be free.

They're saying psychopaths
Take their coffee black.

Cheers.
