Peering through crimson curtains,
Into the life of someone new.
Peeling away their layers,
Until all becomes black, just like you.

Do it to african musk.
Roll it like finely carved dust.
Hold it like dynamite just.
When angels fall, damage must.
Together bind it with trust.
Yet time goes on without rust.

From your empty mind
Find something to say
That has not yet been said
Find a bride
That has not yet been wed
A country not yet found
On this belching ball
Hurling through the universe
Find a secret never heard
In human words
And a riddle yet unsolved
By the wisdom
Of our sages
Through the dimness
Of the ages
Sign the unsignable
Find the unfindable
Send out the summons
For that child of a barren woman

This came from a momentary contemplation of the actual absence of a poem, staring into 'The Source' of pems, the void, and allowing the poem to manifest from that place in a steady flow.  It was an interesting exercise.  I'm not sure how good the poem is but it was quick and effortless and spontaneous.

A green eyed monster that will consume your soul. A thing that turns beauty into horrific obscenity. What a thing that can darken the doorstep of any happy home. Such that it hides in every persons soul. Always waiting for the slightest opportunity to rear it's ugly head. The terrible beast that makes people see red. Tearing apart friendships that were built over a lifetime. This wretched emotion should never see the light of day. Jealousy, the green eyed monster that lives in us all.

the colors of lonely

Light grey rains that fall forever.
drenching me to the soul

White soft falling snow
endless and growing deeper.
Until it covers the world

Dark indigo blue nights
when the moon
Weeps in its sad memories.

The vapour of sea mist
On the foggy deserted oceans
with only the lost cry
of an unseen gull.

The red brick house
in its crescendo
of absolute silence.

A brown hope chest of dreams
that is full to the brim.

My red heart
on days like this one.

Some of us are in indescribable pain.
Meandering through the days while barely holding onto to themselves. Clutching at a line so thin.

We talk to them, laugh with them, and say our goodbyes. And although you might think they're fine, they're not. You've gone home and they're still mired in their own misery.

Whether self induced or not, it doesn't matter. They're stuck in a perpetual pattern of loathing, usually it's self. There's no light.

There isn't much you can do to help them. You can call them, you can be there for them, but too often these endeavors are in vain.

Sometimes it gets to the point where their pain is the only absolute they have. They've embraced it because of its familiarity.

Too often these people are lost to us. They're broken. The damage is just irreparable. To stay yourself would only suffer the crushing inevitably.

We convince ourselves of things. It's an auto response to outside stimuli. Some of us go defense, others offense. Whether whatever it is we've convinced ourselves is true or not. It doesn't matter.

Tears in the rain.
The thing I wear when I’m depressed.
The thing I wear under stress.
When I’m angry I go to the mask’s caress.
I cradle my emotions in a nest.
Only to later have them thrown off my chest.
But still I go back to the mask’s concealing crest.

The mask’s magic is deceiving
It convinces me that hiding my emotions brings healing.
But listen now, listen don’t wait!
If wear the mask you will have it’s fate.
Sooner or Later and don’t forget,
The mask will make you do something you’ll regret.

I hold love and yet
I repel love
I hold pain and yet
I am numb to pain
I can stand time
And yet...
I cannot seem to stand
Time...
Time is but a commodity
And yet I still feel at loss
Pushing forward against the axis of time
Pain equaling the progression of time
So that my pain never decreases and suffers
At a gradient of forced positivity
Or is it really forced?
To live in a state of both pain and positivity?
Is it really forced?
To fear death and yet also infinity
Is it really forced?
When you can see all that which surrounds you
As if blessings hide and yet are plain to sight

But to live through that all brings about confusion
You continue to move forward without falter and yet
You find yourself in seclusion
Not wanting to be found and yet
Seeking warmth til delusion
Finding comfort in the painful cold
And yet begging for the warmth of a human.

Time is but a commodity,
And yet man cannot compare,
They fall weak to its clutches,
And lose to despair.
Take a hint and do not try to live in seclusion
Because one can only take so much pain.
