My soul is trapped
Inside my dreams
My bones and skin
Can’t make me feel
I’m standing numb
As feelings sleep
Inside my cold and fragile heart
I’m either trapped inside myself
Or lost in an entangled world.
My soul is trapped
Inside my dreams
My bones and skin
Can’t make me feel
We are perfected through struggle.
Like sunrises after hollow nights.

You have to get up; try again.

Because even the sun has thought,
"I am too weak to stand,"

And rose anyway.

You shine brighter than the sun, even on a perfect summer day.
By letting your own light shine, you unconsciously give others permission to do the same.
Everything brings back
Thoughts of the Sea
The Tumultuous Ocean
That whispered to me.

Reality is nothing
After all that has passed
Everything’s tainted
Stained and unchaste.

Hours are seconds
Time stopped the day
He breathed out his last
And faded away.

I’ve stopped writing stories
With sticks in the sand
And brushed them away
With slow grieving hands

The water is silent
Where it strokes the shore
Reaching for someone
Not here anymore.
Twisting and Dancing
Consume and Control
Body to Body
Soul to Soul.

Flame and tinder
Catch and combust
Rise from the ashes and
Brush off the dust.

Mingling flickers
Destroy and create to
Fix what is broken;
Alter its state.

Beneath all that burns;
Unattainable goal
Sputtering fires and
Diminishing coals.

Body to Body
Hollow to Whole.
Go as far as you can...

...and then go a little further.
Even when you knees are knocking;
When your feet stain the earth-
Carry on.
It's not just about you anymore
It's the reason you're still moving
Even when the thought of another day is like
Acid in your veins.

It's that fleeting strike of lighting in your path.
That flash of something that just made you feel...
So alive.
In that moment of
Fear and wonder
You were more awake than you'd ever been in your life.
And you knew in that moment that you'd search everywhere
For that brief instant where
Beauty
Mingled with
Uncertainty. Reverence. Awe.

Never stop.
Keep that brilliant light within your reach.
Just within your grasp.
It's in every storm you'll chase.
It's waiting in the clouds of your daydreams,
Breathing in the stagnant thunderheads of the
Ending summer sky.
I'm just here
Standing on a street
Staring into the gaslights
Trying their hardest, like me
To push back the grim.
If I was a mountain

That soared towards the sky,

With craggy snow caps

And stormy grey eyes-

Then you'd be the clouds

That swaddled my peak,

That silenced my thunder

When I tried to speak.

If I was the earth

The desert, in fact:

With arid dry soil

And mud, baked and cracked-

You'd be the rain

The downpour that soothed;

The balm to my bruises,

Relief to my wounds.

If I was the Moon

In the indigo night,

With stars as my blanket

And silver; my light-

Well you'd be the Sun

Just always behind

That lent me your glow

And caused me to shine.
Within the rain, the silent song
The gentle beat, the soothing thrum,
I close my eyes to drift away
To find some peace, I cannot stay.
Sweetness and soft, through dreams I stray
In soft grey tones, the cloudy day.
