Alone in his room.
Late at night,
he’s collapsed in the corner.
Tears spider down his face.
The corruptive blade
makes contact.
It’s an addiction he can’t
crack.

The Calder cut a channel
through the ancient stones of Elmet,
sculpting minds of millstone grit
in moorland weavers' kin.

Poetry coursed his veins.
Clotted domestric pain
flooded his synapse.
His shrouded fame collapsed.
Ted Hughes sometime poet laureate

you cannot
force air
into lungs
that have
long since
collapsed;

you cannot
smile
at the rain
if it has

sun

i missed the times where we used to
just watch scary movies and laugh through out it all
instead of being scared;

where we spent late nights on phone calls
and text messages where we
talk about everything and nothing;

where we even notice the small things,
where I paint our moments with a pen and a paper
and you capture it with your camera;

where we can just be happy by doing nothing as long as
we were together;

but we get caught up in the moment of our fights
and misunderstandings;

we started to focus on our differences and
mistaken beginnings;

then just like that our fantasy

leaving me behind with nothing;

while you walked away with everything.

I took a step into my pained world
and notice everything has swirled
The buildings standing sternly now,
seem to be upside down
The blackness grows through my vision,
and everything misses precision
It seems everything is in slow motion
and I swear I can smell the ocean
I collapse into the ground,
and I notice my head starts to pound
I feel tears stream down my face,
I close my eyes and everything erased.
