I'd love to be your Cadillac
Run you from state to state
Always have you there on time
Make sure you're never late

I'd come equipped with the plushest seats
For you to cuddle in
Temperature set at the perfect degree
Blowing on your silky skin

Enjoying the taste of freedom
Out on the open road
As we hum along static free
To the tunes on my FM radio

I'd come in an array of colors
All meant to compliment
Trimmed in shiny chrome to make you feel at home
So home you'll never miss

I'd love to be your Cadillac
For me there'd be no better fate
Than always having you ride along
As I take you state to state

i've got a hummingbird heart
that flutters back and forth
whenever it's startled by
loves slightest noise

fancy's itself
as being free
but is always drawn back
to it's basic needs

this hummingbird heart
flutters back and forth
always in search of
what it does not know

if it does not know
what it does not have
then how long can this
hummingbird heart last

i've got a hummingbird heart
that fly's on the wind
most times settles on nothing
then fly's off again

this hummingbird heart
all it want's is to feed
from one point to another
and all points in between

taking for granted
the sweetness it craves
this hummingbird heart
gives so much away

The Fall

Do we first need to learn to get up
Or take a lesson in the art of fall
Then after we've taken the fall
Learn to get up from it all

The best of intentions that fall into these lessons
Can only get up to be learned
When we are making the best of the situation
In our search for the upturn

i can see them standing together,
holding each other's hand in the summer
and i want to tell them to leave, that
this is wrong.

i want to tell her of his fury,
of the force he will inflict on her children.
i want to tell him that she's isn't right,
that they will have fights and things,
that they will forever regret, will happen.

i want to tell them that if this happens,
they will put the kids into unhappiness
and their fights will affect the whole house.
i want to tell them that if this didn't happen,
they could meet people better for themselves

but i don't. i am selfish and i let them go,
i let them meet and hold hands and fall
madly in love. i let them fall out of love,
and i let the bad things happen

because i want to live, and i know
that love is just another person
suffering
i can never tell them.

if one mid-summers day

love came rolling in on a cloud

i'd gladly say let it rain

and puddle up around my house

Carpe Diem
Let us treasure today
We are not promised tomorrow
Let us seize the day: Carpe Diem

Let us dance like there is no tomorrow
Let us do things today instead of
putting it off until tomorrow
Let us cherish the moment
before it rushes away
Let us seize the day: Carpe Diem

Let us tell our family we love them
Let us call our friends and tell them too
Let us create some memories
and write them down
Let us not take things for granted
Let us not waste today
Let us seize the day: Carpe Diem
My friends, Carpe Diem
