Without any reasoning
And without any sort of logic
The praying Mantis assumes the worst in others
For others assume the worst in
Itself
The praying Mantis does not simply pray
As one might to believe
No the Mantis is always on alert
Just like a cactus with flowers
The Mantis has beauty
But up close hurts like a *****
The Mantis prefers to be in solitude
Who can blame?
Many view the Mantis as odd
With its eyes and such
The Mantis back in high school
Would get called "Buggy eyes"
Or just "buggy" for short
Boy did the Mantis get flared at that
But would anyone even have known
The raging flames from within?
Of course not.
You see even though the Mantis is alive
Its not like is has feelings or anything
Poor Mantis!
Who can behave such a loving face
Like that in any crude way?!?!
Let me tell you,
Itself.
Oh the Mantis may appear to be a
Smart intellect fellow
But what it happen to miss
Was its own abilities
The Mantis lives the day with the harsh comments
Twaddling along on two feet
Slow and consist.
The Mantis waves its long behind
Trying to please Caterpillar Cally
Caterpillar Cally was the ideal insect
With her curves and fuzzy volume hair
How Mantis wishes Caterpillar Cally was his
He awwed at her
From a distance of course
Mantis would do literally anything
To make her his
As says the old saying
Once you got what you wanted,
You wont want it anymore.
But this he ignored.
They were in love
Well, as close as two bugs could be
But one day on the leaf Cally had a confession
The dumping hit hard for Mantis
"It's not you, its me. Once I transform,
You wont want me anymore"
Mantis was confused and asked
"Why?"
"I'll lose all my hips and thighs"
He thought in silence...
Trotted away with one last saying
"I wouldn't change a thing."
Alone that night Caterpillar Cally cried in tears
As the cocoon wrapped around
Her curvy body till it was bound
The light hit like a laser
The cocoon cracked under her new expansion
She slowly crawled out
To find... the Mantis?
Butterfly Cally was in shock
Him seeing her like this
Was only going to end in mock
She turned the other way
Getting ready to fly
But something gripped her
And it held her by surprise
Locked in the Mantis grip
She struggled and pushed
Until they met lip to lip
"No stop. Don't look at me like this!"
Mantis only stared
"I Wouldn't change a thing."
"Just look at me! I'm skinny as can be,
It's almost sickening!"
"I wouldn't change a thing."
"Please just let me go! Just let me be!"
She tried to flee
"Can't you see I'm no longer pretty?"
Mantis brought her closer
Touching her wings
"I wouldn't change a thing."
so cliche
result of boredom
sorry for the random rhyming half way through.

I thought you'd done a runner
disappeared into the night
and left without a quick goodbye
I thought it impolite.

You hadn't posted poems
Nor answered any calls
hadn't ventured to your inbox
no sign of you at all.

You really had me worried
cause I know you have to write
perhaps you'd gone and left us
for another poem site.

Then as I woke this morning
my inbox brought a smile
there you were, still with us
just not writing for a while.

You said you're feeling ******
and you're stuck there in your bed
and havent had the will to write,
no poems in your head.

So I'm writing you this poem
as a sort of get well card
the rhythm might be sticky
and I find rhyming hard.

Before I go, one question
out of concern, just for you
because I'm sat here wondering
Do women get Man Flu?
Just kidding :-)
get well buddy, come back soon x
Yeah, yeah...
I'm O-k a' a' a' y,
I'm just sittin' round,
It's a 'Sat-tur-day,'
this place still a palace,
little small they say...
...just sittin' round,
And that's O-k a' a' a' y.

Hmmm...
yeah, yeah,
O-k a' a' a' y,
WHO-CHACA' -liquor strong,
got my liquor on,
Oh ** sip-sip,
Wearing wing-tips...
...and THEY GOT SPARKLY-****!

Got my liquor on,
it's a 'Sat-tur-day,'
going out to party,
going out to play...
and I'm...I'm O-k a' a' a' y.

Come on mirror-mirror,
Oh ** sip-sip,
lean in a mirror-nearer,
My legacy a ship.
I couldn't make it clearer,
Oh ** sip-sip,
I'm gettin' fu cked-up
And I'm O-k a' a' a' y!

The doors they open up, 'auto-matic-cally'
Now I 'out-about' and they all seeing me,
Raise the liquor glass, uh-huh sip-sippy,
They try-ing to mimic, they all want-to-be-me.
Give me a ******' break, I breakin' off a buzz...
You standin' lil too close, back it off now couz'

Got my liquor on,
Diamonds, sparkly-****,
Suit smooth, mirror,
they can't see my clip,
got my liquor on,
Uh huh sip, sip.
Now break out a mirror,
chopping up some ****.
Got my liquor on...
And I'm O-k a' a' a' y!

Got my liquor on,
it's a 'Sat-tur-day,'
going out to party,
going out to play...
and I'm...I'm O-k a' a' a' y.

Come on mirror-mirror,
Oh ** sip-sip,
lean in a mirror-nearer,
My legacy a ship.
I couldn't make it clearer,
Oh ** sip-sip,
I'm gettin' fu cked-up
And I'm O-k a' a' a' y!

could what be more beautiful
than, unbound, ivory fingers
caving tingling
filigree complete and softly
intricate on the mechanism
breathing dying
in spRing slowly handstitani(
)cally imp there feathering
living smiling
big chestnut eyes the summers
got about her face a lot like
glinting shying
the star scaled meter of the
last night i was in with
you. where we were forever
scalding lying

Tonight I thought I'd take a ride,
to Cally woods, the tracks are wide,
but all aghast - so were my eyes,
Jack Frost was waiting there outside.

"come out" he whispered with a smile
"the air is sweet, the breeze is mild,
what better for you, lad, today,
than to ride and dream the night away?"

So toiling through the snow and ice,
I went, though doubting his advice.
Although so sharp the air this night,
I felt beyond old Jacks hard bite!

An hour went by, the cold crept in,
Jack cracked his thin lips with a grin.
"You'll be mine soon my lad" he said,
"another hour, you will be dead"

but I'd a trick up my cold sleeve,
a trick that made old Jack frost grieve,
I melt his cold with warmest love,
my guardian angel flies above..

A little life with
Works and schemes
And white hairs strangled in the snow
Feathers more than choked I hope,
Well oh **** help me...
Let me go?

Snow Callie.
One Callie
Cally-in-the-Spring.
That's maybe what they'd call you
Based on what your life could bring.

So many names invented
Based on hedgerows where you hide
Tell me you're not lurking there
- or tell me you're alive -
Don't. I see you Em, and Em and maybe all besides
I see you smile sadly and the lonely long low tides
The waves crash on; I think I know - I see the way she smuggles much
I know she smuggles something and yet never quite enough

Break rocks and snap her feathers
but maybe do not curl her
locks
For I know she's taking notes and her world will be made of rocks.

My family tree has many branches
it bears the fruit of love
it's blossoms bloom to joyful laughter
It's roots are strong and mighty tough.
I offer you it's shade in sunlight
I offer you it's strength of will
I offer you a place of friendship
I offer you a home within.
Should you choose to join our circle,
musicians, poets, artists we,
know that your heart would be so welcome
as part of loving family.
So settle now beneath the branches
and weave the blossoms through your hair
So when you feel your heart is lacking
Look inside and find us there.
A quick study break write. Some poems make me stop and think about how lucky I am to be part of such a large loving family, something I'm lucky enough to be able to take for granted, although from this point on I will try not to.

…Love of mine (sigh, sigh)
I must confess I simply haven’t the time,
To take your willing heart so ready for mine…
The truth is a story to tell!!!
I DON’T WANT A LIFE OF HELL!

Relationships…(sniff, sniff)
Have a tendency to break and slip,
As little bothersomes saw and chip,
At emotions once dressed up as love
And I have HAD ENOUGH!

Twenty years…(oh dear)
It’s all it takes to make a belly of beer,
As my FIFTEEN children scream in my ears!
I can practi-cally he-ear the sound!
of YOUR Spawn running around.

Unequally yoked…(cough, choke)
Words describing how I married some bloke,
Now we’re living in a trailer quite broke,
My Gray hairs ******* in a bun!
Ain’t the future fun?!

Stay. With me
I won't let you go
I can't, I refuse.
After all you've done,
let me help you.
Please.

Stay. With us.
We won't let you fall
We'll catch you
and hold you close
until the tears dry.

Stay, do it
for you, for me
for whatever reason you choose
but do it
I need you,
you need this.

Stay.
It'll all work out.
I promise
with all my heart
to take care of you
I took my eye off the ball
but no more I swear.

Stay.
Be here, with us
your friends
you may not love yourself
but you are loved
more than you know.

Stay.
For you my bestest bud. We've been through a lot but we've come through it, we will again, just don't go Cal, rest but don't leave. I'm not the only one that feels that way, let the haters hate, you belong here. Some people on here need to get a ****** life!
