Grey clouds in the sky
Pitter patter, rain falls down
Calming everyone

I've spent my life in the river's ebb and flow
Some days spent fighting the current, others just floating along
But now my river has no current, and I no fight
I'm stuck in a lake now, with only my hope
Most days I hope I don't drown, others I wish I already had
just keep swimming

There were no shouts and no shrill screams
Only fear, darkness, and hostility
Although it felt real it was just a dream
But there were no monsters, just family

I'm scared though I know it could never come true
My trust has been broken by imagination
I will work to make my relations new
Though this dream has broken their foundations

You are a snowflake falling from the sky
Sparkling and tumbling throughout the night
I wish to touch but I must deny
Lest I harm you or cause you fright
I will only observe and watch you shine
As you fall and live out your life
And as I watch your final decline
You watch me melt and end my strife.
