Sometimes it feels like
I haven’t done anything right
That’s enough to care about
And somehow
That’s worse than
Doing everything wrong,
At least then,
it’s noticeable
Enough
To care about
And deep down I know it well
I shouldn’t fall back
into bad,
Bad habits
But I can never help it
And
It doesn’t matter anymore
which way I go
Downstream or uphill
I’ll follow life’s flow
And if I don’t end up
where I yearn to be
It doesn’t matter
‘Cause it wasn’t up to me

This mind is a lake
Its waters dark and viscous
Thick like honey
It would
require so much strength to reach
the surface
And if you tried
You'd have to be certain
Which way is up
Because
no beam of light could reach in here
to lead you
You won't drown though
This mind is a kind mind
And you're promised to never feel cold
In its waters
It will take care of you
Keep you sane
No waves can attack
Once you've sunk inside
And you will be loved
And you will be home
if the ocean would carry me
it'll collapse under the weight of my bones
made with cement and steel
and the burden each brick owns

witness the waves howler and scream
just like the heart caged in my chest
blood bubbling around the muscle
surging with every beat and protest

the bottom of the sea may be quiet
like my tongue folded neatly in my mouth
though feral beasts deep within
choke with pressure more than i can count

the ocean and i are seperate
both flowers from different gardens
one ephemeral, one wilting before your eyes
but both's head tilting up to the heavens

sorrowful eyes, swirling, storm awakening
chaos mingling betwixt water and blood
ravid souls in dire need of feeding
cursed and blessed by god

i wonder if i could carry the ocean
within just the corners of my palm
i and the ocean - we are one
a catastrophe after the calm
i love the ocean. it makes you feel a lot of things.

Malcolm
the brain’s a butcher
slicing futures
before they breathe.

I stood
on the edge
measuring wind,
timing possibilities
til courage turned to doubt.

but the scream inside me
it didn’t care
about logic
maps
or bruises.

it wanted fall.
it wanted now.

so I shut the noise.
I leapt.

and in the wreckless air
found
I could burn
without dying.

found
the unknown
had teeth
but smiled.

In the unknown
I found
comfort.
