Persephone II
At the start of yesterday
she learned
That to heal
She had to let
Herself
Be
Healed

pay more respect to the women working at morgues.

they tend to the dead
it takes sympathy
it takes care
it takes courage
it takes control

not the control of fear of stray souls
not the control of fear of phantoms
but the control of wanton

and that is why men aren't hired by morgues.
My first poem here... :)
This is actually inspired by someone on the net saying that some morgues in their city did not hire men due to....yk
Successors of Solomon, wiser than wise
Guided by motions of stars in the skies
               Restoring our powers
               Through forests and flowers
With spells on our lips and a gleam in our eyes
An older one from the archive
At a pinch
Id have said
a greenfinch
but birds
are still a mystery
to me,

She says
that in the olden days
when I was young
birds was a slang term
for
females

I can't remember
so
I'm saying nothing.

I want to barbarically remove my heart
And lay it like a horse head on the pillow next to you
Then challenge myself to get far away from you
Before the inevitable collapse from the lack of a heart

It is painful to be a perfectionist,
Mistakes hurt me.

It is muddled,
the sights,
the sounds,
the world.
Chicken soup
and cloudy

windows
in my head.
It is a gift,
a time to
wind down
and reflect.

Why do we close our eyes
During prayer?

Is it to feel the solitary
Presence of Jesus,
Or only to distance ourselves
From the judging eyes
We self-consciously perceive
And create comparisons

Based on, because the World
Consistently draws our attention
And distracts from the only
Opinion that matters?

The Enemy sure does love
the eyes of others.
