Inang Maralita
Eyji Noblesmith Dec 2019
Siyang nagsisilbing tahanan at ilaw
At buhay nitong sangkalangitang bughaw
Ay s'yang sa pag-ibig ng anak ay uhaw
'Pagkat kasaysayan ng bandila't araw
Ay 'di na singtingkad at nakasisilaw

Mayroong bayani't magiliw na supling
Mandirigmang hahayo at magigiting

With the beasts of finest fangs;
Erased by a bang

To A Lady
Eyji Noblesmith Apr 2020
Shall I disclose my mind
With these lines be sent unto thee
And unto thy passive eloquence

How lustrous thou art
That may the angels of Heaven sin
And the Goddesses of myth
With envy

For thy innocent complexion
More bright and radiant
Than the paleness of morning skies
And the meager sun
And dull crystals of night

Thou art defiant to the lights of world
When thy moral'd hues emitted—

What flawed and honest fairness
Strained not by the fires of mortal eyes
Thou hast none of ornament
Nor hast the looms of gaud

Nor thou wilt decline by eternal times
And not will thy ethereal color end
For death is nulled when thou shinest

But I, thou wilt not see
For what a dimm'd shadow
I am before thee

O please, wilt thou?

Wilt Thou Come Again?
Eyji Noblesmith Feb 2020
Out of the shadows, thou dost
After all times that thou lorned;
I hate mirrors and thee most
When fourteenth sun doeth horn—

When bright roses all afire'th
And sugars playeth with the air,
I condemn this very life
Whom of envy and unfair,

The lyrics from every tongue
Of just happy and in love,
To me biteth as the fang
Of thy serpent, of my scythe!

The scent of February
And its fortnight willeth come,
Subtle shade of jealousy
Upon all the Earth and man

Oh Valentine, thou hurteth
Thy caitiff flesh and spirit!
Oh, the fourteenth sun shall set
And our roads are to split!

Wilt thou come again?
A lonely Valentines Day

A Safe Place
Eyji Noblesmith Apr 2020
The world is but a safe place
And of no tears and bruises

When each of the mortals
Is a shadow of the Heaven
And a lover of his land
Of his seas
Of his trees

When the volcanoes do not wrath
Or the earth never shakes
Or the skies refuse to be eaten by darkness
And roars of the clouds

When the sins are never born

When the flesh is pleasured by love
Not by the lust and untrue

When the tongues never lie
And eyes never judge

When the stars don't die

When the ghosts don't grudge

When the people
Is the limbs graciously sway
With the flow of rhythms

When golds and diamonds
Are nothing but stones
Than the worth of a living

When breads and rice
Are for all who starves

When the ground of a lady
And that of a man
Are perfect and even

When supremacy is not a maiden
A beauty and violent
That the bloods would woo

When the crowns and the straw hats
Are woven alike

When there is nothing to be cleansed
Like a sickness
Or a taint
Or a fear

The world is but a safe place
When all the dreams can live
Can the world be a safe place?

The Heaven Looked Like
Eyji Noblesmith Mar 2020
As the lost heart did wander
Eyed a glimpse of Heaven
'Tis in a flesh of a human
And with the name of a lady

And when its head turned to me
I could see the angels
Through the eyes of its,
They play the melodies of lyre—

A pleasant music
Which persuades and of attraction

The Heaven of that high
That no man could get nigh
My soul dreamt of having
The wings and to fly—

Away from the shade of my own
Beyond my spectral shadows

— The End —
