Dry
.
It
is
true,
you are
totally right.
I'm as dry as
a desert, I'm a dead
empty land. I used to be
a  jungle  when  the  clouds
where by my side, and now that
they are gone, my trees, my dreams
they dried and died. Because of this,
nothing grows inside of me, there is
only silence and despair. I can't feel
what  I  write,  I  barely  feel alive
I want to feel human again
Oh god, I really miss
the rain
Es frustrante tener  las palabras pero no el tiempo y luego tener el tiempo y no recordar las palabras

These bed sheets were stained with my battered and bleeding heart,
My dress torn.
This bed of mine was my captor,
I, it’s prisoner.
I fell victim to the prying hands that kept wandering between my legs.
It wasn’t love that brought us here, no.
It was my quiet mouth,
My clothes that fell apart between your fingers like wet sand and the screams I supposedly only muttered.
My innocence had been ripped from me,
Like a piece had physically broken off.
My soul,
My happiness,
My trauma.
You stole from me and it was priceless.
I lost a many of things to me but my purity was my own.
I am expendable and I’ve come to accept it

this isn’t going to make sense
cause it’s not supposed to
and if I’m being honest
this isn’t for you
it’s not even for me

I’m stuck
I’m trapped
I’m lost
I’m every other word that describes people who feel at a dead end

I’m typing on a ****** phone
That’s connected to a ****** connection
That could possibly be a metaphor for my life

I’m writing
Because I don’t know what else to do

I’m writing
Cause that’s what they told me to do

But they also told me that what I think isn’t always true
That I’m special and I just don’t see it

But that’s the thing
I don’t see it

And if I don’t see it then why should it matter if anyone else does

And if I’m thinking something why should it matter if it’s true

What matters is that it’s in my head
What matters is that it’s always there

But here I am
Stuck in the same place
Back to square one
No progress made
The same questions, whether true or not

Will I amount to anything?
Do I really help?
Am I really worthwhile?
Do you actually care?

I see these people
When I’m online
They smile and post
They edit and pose

I can’t help but wonder

Do you really smile, or do you just do it to look happy like me?
Do you really feel happy, or are you trying to lie like me?
Do you understand what I feel?

Or is it just me?

I’m not trying to be selfish
I don’t want a lot
I just want to be happy
And I want others to be happy with me
But neither is happening

So instead there’s a poem
That doesn’t even ryhme
That makes no sense
  I’ll try harder

a song plays
it taps my shoulder
with it's slow sadness
my spine curls like old wallpaper
in a house I knew

with eyes closed
it rings like a phone
like hearing your own name
I answer the call
memories flood

and it smells like dust
like a photo album
you only recognize
and do not remember

the books you hold
your mother's voice
as you tun the worn pages
like she's still reading to you

it feels like
sidewalk chalk
and walking home

home
the word is a hot stove
I try not to touch anymore
it just burns

I never learn
I open the door
evoking melancholy
just to see blurry faces
to hear my younger self
laugh about things
like funny faces
and late bedtimes

the smoke alarms ring out
the song ends
but the burn lingers
and stings throughout the day

I'm sitting on wet tile
water dripping from my hair
in darkness
under warm water

the pressure beats my skin
like the rain
it echoes in my hollow head
like drums do
and my mind is numb

empty
like a house we moved out of
like a home I never understood

like a stove left on
burning it down
every time I listen to that song

Someone stole my color
And threw it to the wind
Scattered like ashes
I don’t know if I’ll ever find it

Someone stole my color
From the face I know so well
I saw it in the cotton candy clouds
And the teal ocean swell

Someone stole my color
I guess that’s where it went
The world looks so much brighter
Like something heaven-sent

Someone stole my color
And that’s what no one knows
Depression isn’t black
It’s the color of a rose

It’s the light orange in a sunset
And the yellow of a peach
Light blue, my favorite color
So simply out of reach

Purple like my favorite eyeshadow
No, lavender, I’d guess you’d say
And my favorite music artist
Although he has passed away

Someone stole my color
Now everything’s too bright
I suppose sometimes darkness
Isn’t the opposite of light

Someone stole my color
So I’ll wear grey and black
As if in mourning
Until I get it back
