The tide rolled in and tilt the cup,
and thus did spill the final drop
upon the lips of thirsty sands;
brought out by the waves again.

The earth shook twice then caved right in
upon a few unfortunate heads.
Shook it off then rose above;
thank god for helmets.

The wind howled loudly as it toppled trees.
The earth split open and swallowed cities.
The volcano spat and ate Pompeii.

Nature giveth then it taketh away.
Yeap.
I still have paper
Empty
Blank
Paper
Full of words I never wrote
Lines for the skeletons of forgotten thoughts
I still have paper
College ruled
The pages have more lines for what I could've wrote to you
I
Still
Have
Paper
And a sentimental soul
This paper had a purpose
Each page I meant to use
I still have paper
And some words for
You
If only I could send mail
Into the world of the unknown
I still have paper
Now that you aren't coming home
all the boys she loved were abandoned churches
with no forwarding address
until the day she knocked down his door
and walked into a cathedral

You
have , at your whim,
the most powerful weapon,
a cure to heal
whatever problem presents itself:
you have rhythm

We stood together
As the first leaf fell,
Spiralling towards the earth,
Carried on a wind beyond it's control.
We held hands
As the first leaf fell,
Clinging to each other in silence,
A sense of desperate hope in the air.
We fought for each other
As the first leaf fell.
No sorrow for a season past,
But the anticipation born of a new beginning.
And the determination
That when the new leaves grow,
We will stand together.
Still.

Ancient farmers in dry places
Watched the clouds.
Clouds mean rain.
Rain means life.
And so they discovered
That human fate falls from the sky
And rises from the ground.
This is the source of all mystery.
