If I am in love with you, my lover,
And if they call it a sin in my account,
Let them hang me from the gallows,
I shall readily dissolve in your love.

Hai 'gar mujhe pyaar jo tujhse, meri Aashiqui,
Aur kehte wo use hain ik gunaah,
To mujhe faansi par chadha dein showk se,
** jaaun main tere ishq mein fanaa.

Shaayad mar chuka hai Bhagwan,
Tabhi to zameer bikte hain yahan.

Maybe God is decaying and is stale,
This is why consciences are on sale.
An Urdu|Hindi couplet and its translation.
An intended pun on the rampant corruption.
Probably God is dead and so there's limitless corruption.

Transliteration:
Kabul kab luti ye to na maaloom chal saka,
Magar kamobesh halchal to kabhi se thi.

Translation:
When Kabul was gutted it couldn't be known,
But the drift was more or less the same since long.
I'm happy now.

Self-derived definition:
Whimmings, like whim, can also relate to sudden change of mind.
