Being Happy with Yourself
Michael LoMonaco Mar 2018
Civilization will be your biggest critic,
Casting judgement on character,
Causing the shield to go up.

Personal attacks will come from strangers,
Harmful opinions come through the workplace,
And you will be stunned by loved ones.

Hearing those comments which scar,
And seeing those ****** impressions that disapprove,
Actions which can deplete self-esteem.

People’s negative perception is meaningless,
As long as you are happy with yourself,
Forming a stance that nobody can break.

Forgiveness
Michael LoMonaco Aug 2016
The sword of fury stabs us in the back,
Sparking the fire by resentment.

Eradicate the fire of fueled anger.

Life is too short to scorch in rage,
A blaze which depletes the quality of life.
