When I called for you
I didn't expect you to turn
You don't love me like I love you
I've come to learn
I knew it was over that day
when you came to me
Like a tyrant, just glaring at me
And every word you said after, oh so mean
Suddenly you don't want us to be
Suddenly ''this'' wasn't meant to be
But come on this is me!
My darling this is meee
The same you claimed to own your heart
The same you told we'd never grow apart
Am I hearing you right when you say
Your love for me has blown away?
Tell me, was it ever there?

You get up and so you're off
Not caring to turn back
I say yes, walk on
Forget that when your back was weak
I carried your burdens
Forget that when ''friends'' stuck knives in it
I tended the gashes
And yet today you're turning that back towards me
Today you're the one killing my heart
After I nursed your wounded one

Tears streaming down my face
I called for you
Silly me still needed you!
I should've known you wouldn't turn
Because since we were
Your love for me never was
Now this
I've come to learn

Empty

I woke up this morning!
It is cool out and lovely
But, with all this beauty
I feel nothing but empty.

I usually feel happy, excited
Can’t wait to go out and feel
But, not anymore
I feel nothing but empty.

I hurt inside, where I breathe
I feel a tightness that can’t expel
But, like always, I must go on
I feel nothing but empty.

I feel I should cry,
My eyes are on the brim
But, I don’t
I feel nothing but empty.
From you I learnt
that true love was
and endless cycle
of hello and good night.

Yet you and I
were stuck in a vortex
of stay and goodbye.
May blues. Memory traps.
Blank, blank.

"Go ahead and go."

Measure our nights
by the sighs of the moon.
Count the stars
till we run out of room.
Lie here beside me
'neath the comforting sky.
Make me a pillow
of your warming thighs.
Bring my roar to your lips
as my salt you sip.
Twice kissed silken cries
your wakened delight.
Measure our nights
by slumbering sighs.

It's him again. The reason why.
I start anew, my pen has pride
It's him again. The reason why.
My pages are blank and full at the same time
It's him again. The reason why.
My joyful laugh, my sorrowful cry
It's him again. The reason why.
Days where I just can't get by
It's him again. The reason why.
I've cried so much, my eyes are dry
It's him again. The reason why.
Can't bring myself to say goodbye
It's him again. The reason why.

madness

sometimes i wonder
if the world i live in
is one i made up in my head
that exists only for me

and if that’s true
i don’t mind
because the world i’ve created
is filled with madness
but the best madness i’ve created for myself
is you
Let the world know that poetry
is great.
There is passion in its rough, gilded grooves
(I've seen it all)
Dance shoes under
(I've tried them on)
And overall, wicked smiles
(they have shown on my face).

I've read the Alice blue tears of a grown man
lined up like a tree so that
each line is a branch.
I've read all the things
that you think don't love each other,
but they simply do.
Poetry loves you--people and poems are
just the perfect
dance partners.
I've seen it all--

I've seen that crazy look
on a poet's face.
It is the best form of every thing
which is only tangible

through a poem.
An English assignment.
