when parallel worlds collide
no words may be spoken
of the chaos left inside
how about this
you were not there
it was not real
my missing parts
you did not steal
digging deeper
deepest down
I found some thing
made me bold
alchemical gold
cannot be bought
cannot be sold
still brought a lot of trouble to my door
future, present and what went before.

Navigating mercy

An asylum harbor from afar

Here, in the gloaming of your closed
notebooks

A faint-hearted horizon

And the wide beam sea

Two days out from despair

The written word will capsize
you, Anne

God is in your typewriter
and where the boats so often go

I.

This, a final offering,
before the clipping of wings.
A love like blood,
oh anathema.
A grey declined to black,
oh herem.

It means salvation
knelt with darkness.

II.

So it be!
So it be!
So it be!

Ring the bell,
close the book,
blow out the candle.

Douse the sacred sun
and find belief caught in fishermen's nets.

III.

In silence of angels,
climbing broken ladders,
no ascent, no longer.

Salvation has
knelt with darkness.

I’m so tired of changing my mind about you
She told me you never went stargazing, now is that true?
Didn’t you know I was crying that night by the pool?
You were telling me all ‘bout your day and how we looked so cute

Heavenly bodies collide in a gentle embrace
My eyes start to puddle with sundry stars like a lake
A fervent wish, but they streak down the sky like it’s too late
Mockery slides over me, they reflect my mistakes

Is it true? Is it you?
Did the inky blackness blot out what’s written?
Cause the stars we can chart
But we can’t predict who’s listening
Tell me, darling darling sparkling diamond
Do you really love me?
I’m trying to figure it out on my own
I’m so alone
You’re on the phone
I’m so alone

What will you say if I tell you that I don’t remember
How it felt when you held my lips in a kiss last December

May I falter May I fall, or will you say I wrecked it all
Oh love, don’t you know you’re wrecking me?

Is it true? Is it you?
Did the inky blackness blot out what’s written?
Cause the stars we can chart
But we can’t predict who’s listening
Tell me, darling darling sparkling diamond
Do you really love me?
I’m trying to figure it out on my own
I’m so alone
You’re on the phone
I’m so alone

Can you hear me
Can you hear me
Can you hear me
Can you?

Somewhere in the sky is a place where I’ll go soon to die
Did I do enough for you?
Am I worth enough to shine
When you stargaze alone in the mirror
Will you choke through the tears, “she was always so happy”
Or will you cry because you’ve realized too late that you’ve killed me

She was my oxygen and gravity and heartbeat.
She died and broke our universe. She loved me
enough to bring me back from Mars. I was lost.
She died out of our orbit and chaos made me mad.
You rob me blind and I know but don't really care.
Nothing matters anymore. I'm heading back to Mars.
