She is light on water
And that bite in the air
That wakes you

It wakes you and you're alive and you can't help but breathe

And then she grins and
She hugs you
Her hands at your neck
And the breathing has stopped

And you know then
Things can't go back

To before
It was so ******* simple

A hug was just a hug and a kiss was nothing more

Now there's fire in your veins when she walks through the door

we wake up every morning
to the sun
creeping in through
the gossamer curtains

the rays of the sun
traveled all the way
into your room
to brighten up your day

but all you ever search for
first thing in the morning
is the artificial light
from the screen of your cellphone

why cant you take some time
to stop and stare
at the dust falling around you
dancing in the ever iridescent sunlight
As a child I laughed
Arms out, bounding in the surf
Seals calling my name
My world was bright, fresh and free
I knew not shame nor envy

You ever get that feeling when you're trying to look into snow as it's falling and you just get lost in where it's coming from and where it's going?

That's kinda how I feel when I look at you.

If you want to be a part of my future,
You must first hear the story of my past.
Because if you can't handle the bittersweet part one,
I'm not writing you into the upcoming chapters.

i looked in the rear view mirror and
it seemed to make a lot more sense
than what i see ahead of us
i'm ready to make that turn
before we both crash and burn
that could be the death of us
baby, you know how to drive in rain
and you decided not to make
a change
stuck in the same old lane
going the wrong way home
i feel like my heart
is
stuck
in
bumper to bumper
i'm under
pressure because i can't have you the way that i want
let's just go back to the way it was
when we were on
honeymoon avenue
baby
coasting like crazy
can we get back to the way it was?
what happened to the butterflies?
guess they didn't count at that stop sign
and my heart is at a yellow light
right when i think that we've found it
that's when we start turning around
you're saying "baby, don't worry"
but we're still going the wrong way
A
Poem
Is just a
Jumbled mix
Of words, shaped
And shifted according
To the writer's every whim-
Lovely, gray, unexpected, cliche,
Harsh, crisp, ragged, soft, or pointed
As an
Arrowhead
