Sing me to sleep
In this heartbreak summer
Drown me in the spring
Where we clung to each other
Winter in my bedroom
Blankets pulled up to smother
On the one night a year
That we pretend we are lovers
Starting writing because Heartbreak Kids was stuck in my head and somehow I ended up with this.

see me as me,
you can tell,
the heartbreak,
open doors,
everything has a part,
it turns on me,
look everyone i am,
falling apart,
eyes red as fire,
fire hurts everyday,
i burn everyday,
see the marks,
i am hurting,
see the pieces,
look at me,
i am ending,
the light i can see,
the one calling for me,
does anyone care,
for me.

You took our things
And boxed them up
Put them away
Into the dark
At least when they're hidden
You'll have a chance to forget about us

A singular flower grows out
the face of a rock.

That little sprout,
It was holding the power that was bout to be unlocked.

Time was the key
To split the rock
Because that little flower grew a tree.
The singular flower
Cleared a path by unleashing it’s power.

I don’t want to be your
sunshine
I want to be your
moonlight
I don’t want to spit morning in your face
and remind you that it’s time to go to work
I want to be that spirit
that lets you know that it’s time to relax
I don’t want to burn your eyes or your skin
I never want to be capable of hurting you
I want to illuminate your soul
I may be under appreciated
eclipsed in the shadows
but I accept that
because I know that I’ll always be that small
light
guiding you in all of the
darkness.

Where do I leave these words she gave me?
Where do I put the intimate things?

Where do I let go of the letdown we became.
How do I forget the beautiful could have been.

Here in this regret.
Here in this middle of nowhere.
Here where the rocks murmur a name I no longer hear.

Here despondent.
Here derived.

Contrition.
Torpor.

We're all so absent.
Crying in tandem to our dying dreams.
Please.
Come back.
From so far out there you float in miasma.
Give us back our hope.
The things that get us through our days.
Our cherished.
Memories.

But the empty don't dream.
