The Fire Burns
The cobras flatten and raise their heads,
their heads begin to bob and weave,
the pungi plays with hypnotic dread,
the crowd is scared but refuse to leave.

The Fire Burns
an unattainable wish,
it is against human nature,
the sadness of it all.

The Fire Burns
I worship at her honeyed gate,
I long to taste and to tempt fate,
the glistening petals of desire,
could never ever douse my fire.

beautiful colors swirl,
clouding realistic images,
the truth is lost within.

Everyone thinks of someone
but not everyone is thought of

The feeling that you are alone
With so many people around you

Cold and empty
All alone

I wish I were made of stone
So your words would never hurt me
I wish I were cold as ice
Then maybe I wouldn't be lonely

I wish I were made of steel
So my strength would never waver
If only I could turn back the clock
To a time when I felt safer

But I'm only flesh and bone
And your words have left me bleeding
My heart is torn apart
It's a wonder it's still beating

You made up your mind
Given me your final answer
What we shared is in the past
Time to write a brand new chapter

I will fix my broken heart
Some how piece it back together
It may never be the same
It'll bare this scar forever

But I'll be strong, I'll be alright
Though I'm not as hard as steel
And I can't turn back the clock
In time....my heart will heal

And what would happen if you
Looked into my eyes...

And realised?

These glazed eyes,
A distorted tautologous window.

A facade of transparency.
The window is misted
It’s distorted with the touch of an October morning.

And I fear.

You will not see through this window,
This glass.
Until it has shattered,
And all that remains is a soul,
That has been freed.

.
Mighty palette
in the sky.
Feast of pastel colours
of sundown.

Nestbound birds
sang up a cry.
Alone I sat,
grass-crested mound.

Inhale a breath,
exhale a sigh...
Pocket of bliss,
peace on earthly ground.
