Here it comes
Here comes the sandstorm
After all the trials and tribulations
The moment to fight back is NOW!!!
It's this time the enemy going down

Went through hell and back
Strength in spirit and in heart
Raging up for the attack
Tides turning to get up for the start

Never going to surrender
The eyes are locked on you
This time it's to remember
And fight for what is true

(Chorus)---

Rise!
Rise!
Rise the sandstorm
It's time to settle the final score
Rise!
Rise!
Rise! Here comes the Sandstorm
Battle to win this massive war
It's time to rise!
------------------

When the chips are down
And everything does collapse
This is the time to fight on
Lady in red is here for the help

She brings the battle forth
Controlling the time and the sands
Crashing the foes in this form
Here she comes for the final stand

As the storm forging in the distance
Intensifying through the place
Becoming the queen of the sands
Her heart is about to race

She is fighting for what is true
Bringing her rage ALL ON TO YOU

(Chorus)---

Rise!
Rise!
Rise the sandstorm
It's time to settle the final score
Rise!
Rise!
Rise! Here comes the Sandstorm
Battle to win this massive war
It's time to rise!
------------------

Here it comes
Here comes the sandstorm
After all the trials and tribulations
The moment to fight back is NOW!!!
It's this time the enemy going down

(Guitar Solo)

Ascending from the ashes
A warrior from the Earth
She has the power
Many tides to turn

Fearless in her rise
Stronger through it all
Tornado raging in eyes
Overly standing tall

Unleash the primal screams
Bringing enemies TO THEIR KNEES

(Chorus)---

Rise!
Rise!
Rise the sandstorm
It's time to settle the final score
Rise!
Rise!
Rise! Here comes the Sandstorm
Battle to win this massive war
It's time to rise!
------------------

Here it comes
Here comes the sandstorm
After all the trials and tribulations
The moment to fight back is NOW!!!
It's this time the enemy going down

FIGHT ON!!!!

Rise, rise,rise
O my hope, rise!
rise like the balloon very high
when there is no air in the sky,
rise like the splendour of the day
through fog spread all the way,
rise like the full-blown moon
when the night camps out soon.

rise, rise, rise,
O my hope, rise!
moments are beset with helplessness
and the clock circles failures and restlessness,
rise and stand on the hill,
there life is full of thrill,
rise never to die and never
and never fall like gushing cascade in the river.

(for Nietzche, who cowers behind art.)

The world calls the conquered ******
to remember that the sun every night yearns

to rise, to rise, to rise

when there is no guarantee, no promise, no sure thing.
Yet still it yearns

to rise, to rise, to rise.

The world called Canaanites ******
while they traded and toiled along the shores
of land promised to the aged heretic of Sumer,
whose wife could give only love.

The world called Hebrews ******
while they raised Pharoah tombs
Provided respite from the eastern chariots
Stubborn in refusal of the living gods
Drinking only Eloheim's bitter grape
That provides brief respite from his decrees
When delving deep in one's cups.

The world called Britons ******
When flogged Boudicea fought and fought and finally fell
To Roman spear and gladius
When Angles and Saxons raided then stayed
When Cromwell climbed the pale cliffs

The world called the Iberians, Gauls and Teutons ******
when Caesar crossed the Rubicon
Pax Romana for Citizens born
Land for the wealthy, voting rights too
Taxes and tithes from their toil.

The world called the Khoikhoi of South Africa ******
From the VOC to fatal Apartheid
Up rose a man
The heart of the land
A man named Nelson Mandela.

The world called the Viet Minh ******
from Can Vong to Dien Bien Phu
'till they slogged howitzers above
to reign Napoleonic terror below.
And to them it was just
The American War
After the world called them
Vietnamese.

The world calls the conquered ******
to remember that the sun every day yearns

to rise, to rise, to rise

When there is no guarantee, no promise, no sure thing
yet still it yearns

to rise, to rise, to rise

'though it never watches its own rising
undoing raiment of fading embers
swimming naked in the royal blue
bathing all with daily newborn naked glory
chasing the celestial tidal tease
that seems to wander where it please
reminding that all are born free
but can grow into ignorance
and be called ******.

Seek truths
that hold in unity;
that provide nourishment
beneath the lash
allowing one

to rise, to rise, to rise.
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may **** me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.
got to rise
got to rise
got to rise

I see the ladder's highest rung
from here on the flat floor
and I know that rising
to top rung
is going to take
so so much more

I'll strive
I'll put in the effort
I'll give it all I've got
to ascend
to that top rung spot

got to rise
got to rise
got to rise
Sam the painter
he's a ladder climber of note
and he's handed me
one of his climbing quotes
don't let that high rung
beat you down
show it that you
are no fumbling clown

got to rise
got to rise
got to rise
to the ladder's lofty peak
and as I step up each rung
I'll be aware
that I'm on an all conquering feat
with my optimistic feet

got to rise
got to rise
got to rise

Having seen the dreadful remarks made on Social Media about USA President's wife, Michelle Obama I think this poem is worth re-reading

We will rise, Rise up to the earth.
Rise up to the skies, We will rise.
No waterfall will take us down,
No flood of rain or broken walls,
No white of winter can tear us up.
So why should tears destroy us?
We will lose everything at once,
But we will rise, rise up to the earth.
Rise up to the skies, we will rise.
And we can hope for sunny rays,
But what’s the use during lazy days?
So we will rise, take action in our pain.
Find comfort in our cries.
And when no one else can save us,
We’ll rise up on our own.
I swear we’ll be okay.
With all our efforts theirs no other way.
No heart of gold can help us,
If our heart is made of stone.
So let’s open up our arms,
And bloom through the rocks.
On our own or by ourselves
We will stand our ground.
Cause we will rise, rise up to the earth.
Rise up to the skies, we will rise.
The little town I’m from flooded recently and this is a poem I wrote for my community.

Rise Up

Rise Up, Rise Up
It's time to take a stand
Rise Up, Rise Up
support your fellow man.

The road will not be easy,
the other side is out in force.
But ours is a crucial fight to win
and we've got to stay the course.

Rise Up, Rise Up
Take the protest to the street.
Rise Up, Rise Up
Clap your hands and stomp your feet.

We've got to make it clear today,
that justice will be served.
Fight the hate in the here and now,
so the future is preserved.

Rise Up, Rise Up
The movement needs your voice,
Rise Up, Rise Up
For those that didn't have a choice.

Let the world see us, thousands strong
standing shoulder next to shoulder.
Lord, give us courage and give us wisdom
to be louder and be bolder.

I found myself buried deep within the womb of creation
Lost, I climbed through the mud of life
Pulling myself up on the bones of the ancients
I broke through to the light, and heard the earth cry
Rise, Woman, Rise

I looked upon the face of the eternal
Reaching upward, I tried to touch the sky
So with my feet planted firmly in the past
I grew toward the future, bridging both earth and divine
And in me, the words rose once more,
Rise, Woman, Rise

After I had bridged the heavens,
After I had delved through the mud
I branched out towards the stars surrounding
Souls glittering in the lonely sky
Beckoned by a need, I reached to them
But just out of reach, they twinkled distantly
When a single answer I heard them call
Rise, Woman, Rise

And from my roots, I grew down deeper
And from my arms, I reached out high
With my fingers, stretched out longingly
Glancing over them, I swept the sky
Fingers clasped my own in their hands
Pulling me towards their brilliant light
Connected, I am tied to the universe
Woven into the web of life
And now, when I see another reaching,
I cry out the words that brought me here,
*Rise, Woman, Rise
