  Feb 2019 Blair
Lily
I remember the evening
that we sat clinging
to paper cups
of coffee gone cold

over secrets spilled and memories told
two bodies cursed
with hearts grown old

behind your eyes
I found new worlds
A winding road stretched out for miles
to a small cafe at the end of the isle

Sweet pastries filled the mouths
of those who sat beside us
and stayed for a while.

How the hours went by,
people just passing through
The descending sun ending
a forever with you.
Blair Feb 2019
the space that lies between
like a tenebrous void
i embrace it
if only for a moment to feel
Blair Jun 2015
Like a flame
I am extinguished
I was fire, I was light
But I let my smoke rise too high
Now I am darkness
Cold and afraid
I cling to the memory
Of what I once was
Blair Apr 2015
Cold to the touch
I feel it rolling down
Like the trace of a finger
It leaves a trail
A temporary reminder
Of why it's there
I wipe it away
Knowing another will come
To take its place
Blair Apr 2015
It's not so bad
During the day
When the sun warms my skin,
And the breeze cools my nerves
When my thoughts are preoccupied
With trivial tasks

Then day turns to night
And the sun lies down to sleep
The moon peaks through my blinds-
Its stark silver light casting ominous shadows

I wonder when I'll see you again

They say that secrets seek refuge in darkness
But I find my innermost fears all the more illuminated
Blair Apr 2015
They float, slowly
Cascading down
Sifting through the air
Swaying back and forth
When I reach up to touch them,
They move ever so slightly
Away from my grasp
Avoiding my touch
They want to stay
But remain far enough away
Blair Apr 2015
Constant, consistent, consuming
Devoid of all control
Relentless, redundant, ruining
I must never reveal my soul

For only I know
How far I will go
Can't let it show
I've never felt so low
