Taste me there
  you strike
  snake like
  poison again
  finish our sins
  never begin
  nobody loses
  nobody wins
I wish my imagination glistened
as it used to

I long for the rush of enthusiasm
with dreamy violins and brassy horns
of Tchaikovsky and Mahler

Where has the music gone
the tingly feeling in my chest
the excitement
now replaced by numbness
and in the midst of silence
shrill electric strains between my ears

You created a shallow place
Where memories should pool deep
But none are kept to admire

You created love
That was a fleeting feeling
A dream to burn my eyes when I woke

You created a thing grown
That still occasionally stings
As it explains
Who was my mother's daughter
Lie
I could talk
all night
yet still
barely
erase
my lie

As the life in your eyes began to fade
I saw you wings decay,
Like a autumn marsh
Turning from amber to beige.

Everything you had was lost,
Yet you fight remains;
An inferno among the flames.

You rose, an empress among the monarchs,
And finished, a champion among winners.

You’re a falcon in the wind,
A ruler of your world.
You never lost home, and now you’re here.

Welcome home.
I tore my heart into puzzle pieces.
I'll never put it back together again.
Our fruit withered on love's branches.
Time abandoned me. How long's it been?
50 years ago I lost you in youth's fog
we never found our constant North Star
in the darkest night in blinking lights.
50 years I searched for you everywhere.
