The little girl
wearing a Navy blue dress
with a white collar
and black patton shoes
holds a red
helium balloon
as she walks down a path of clouds
through the vast wilderness
of space and time
representing life on overtime
a second home on a lake
a souring career
living with a man she is married to
but doesn't love anymore
and may never have
sings the song
"Twinkle Twinkle , Little Star"
and she is wondering
just how far
Have You Ever-

felt the blazing sun too hot, it ****** your skin?
then, suddenly, falls a downpour of raindrops so thin.

Have you ever
seen steam rise from hot surfaces doused by the rain?
have your hands, ever
let go of a hot plate, or a hot pan due to burns and pain?

Have you ever
stopped to think and wonder
why...........why
when so inspired
your flow of rhymes
in midstream, suddenly dies?

Have you ever
reached that point, where
the minutes, hours,
days, weeks, months of each year,
where...every breath you take,
is wasted waiting? And for your sake,
every drop of patience...you manage to imbibe,
and then you fight, every struggling second in your life.

Have you ever felt.....a brokenness
a spreading...widening blackness?
numbed you in the heat; in the cold, you almost froze
your lips do bleed...but no one sees, til they're too close
because, you cover them with bright colors...for show
you bear no signs of belligerence
your pained moans and screams of resistance,
............................fall,
and get lost in a dark abyss...a  huge hole
...you open your mouth...
and, like a wind that howls....you shout,
in that immeasurable depth, your voice glows, like embers,
yet, nobody knows...it's you, who always remembers.

You, are soaking wet...tap water continues to pour
bath tub overfills with stained, pained water all over the floor
the anesthetized edges of your brokenness, now cooled...softened,
go down the drain, and there, they get to be unfettered,
they flow out of your system, these bottled feelings;
even a brief moment of break...of freedom,
should be appreciated...

Have you ever thought of gratitude?

Have You Ever Seen The Rain?
(by Creedence Clearwater)

Someone told me long ago
There's a calm before the storm,
I know; it's been coming for some time.

When it's over, so they say
It'll rain a sunny day,
I know; shining down like water.

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day?

Yesterday, and days before,
Sun is cold and rain is hard,
I know; been that way for all my time.

'Til forever, on it goes
Through the circle, fast and slow,
I know; it can't stop, I wonder.

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day?

Yeah!

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day?

And he told me, "You, my dear, are not a collection of people's memories. You don't need to house and protect everyone; you don't need to display and be proud for what they've done; you don't need to preserve them when all they do is walk over you. There will be moments that you have to guard them, but there will be much more of you having to watch out for your own self. You live for yourself and have confidence in it. You may be broken at times, but it's the fragments which make you much more intricately detailed.  You have the potential to be the main attraction. All you have to do is to let it show. Remember, you are not a museum, but a masterpiece of art."
This is a little write for self-doubt. If you have been having doubts about anything in your life, it is okay and it will pass. You will be scared of the risks, and even your dreams. But I'm telling you: if you're scared, then your dreams are worth the risks.

Write no more of self inflicted scars
Of brutality, pain, suffering
For all those things only increase your suffering

Instead write of a rich green forest *****
Alive in the sunlight
Alive with the sounds of nature
Of animals and birds

Write about the beauty of the common flower
Struggling up from a crack in broken concrete
A flower not filled with despair
But instead offering it's beauty to your eyes
As though giving thanks for its existence

Yes, sadness and despair we can all feel
For we are mere mortals
But for despair there is a cure not written on the pages of a book
Take yourself to a rocky place overlooking the sea
Watch the seagulls effortlessly ride the wind
Read stories in the foaming breaking waves
Smell the ozone in the air

Or

Take yourself to a sunlit forest glade
Close your eyes and listen as nature calls your name
She will tell you "leave despair behind and write no more of it"
Free your mind of dark thoughts
You have no need of fancy words
From one with letters after his name
Your despair will be washed away by scalding tears
Tears of happiness, as nature plays her game
Like most people I have my darker moments and my answer is the above, no matter what the weather nature will always give me the release that I seek
