I've always been a night owl
Never really been a morning lark
The daytime just doesn't do it for me
The night on the other hand fills me with spark
My mind works better
My soul feels safer
All i need is a cup of tea,a good movie to watch
And a bag of vanilla flavoured wafer

When i look at the moon and stars in the night sky
It gives me a different kinda' high
The stillness and silence of the night
Just the moonlight to guide you
Man..it's so serene and haunting
Magical almost...
Looking at the post-midnight empty streets...
I'm sometimes reminded of the emptiness in my life
But then again even the darkest and gloomiest of night skies has at least that one star shining in it
So that does fill me with hope
May be not now
But somewhere in the future
This introvert soul might get someone to love
'Coz nobody wants to be lonely
And i ain't no exception

Ja
I wonder what your eyes see
That mine don’t
What your mind thinks
That mine won’t

I wonder what your heart feels
That mine can’t
Who your love touches
That mine shan’t

I wonder what your dreams conceive
That mine wouldn’t
And what you will achieve
That I couldn’t

I wonder where your destiny lies
That mine isn't
What your legacy will symbolize
That mine didn't

(Empty Gaze)

It was a journey, unwanted
you should've been with me, instead
i walked behind you
i sat beside you
not one bit did you care,
impenetrable, was your stare
i got dizzy from turning around
and ended in front of you, on the same ground.

your catatonic eyes, i sought
your disconnected gaze, i  fought,
i waited, calmly
patiently,
stood there longer...your hand, i was scared to touch
you could've hopped, traipsed, dreamed too much
and i...could've been lost, in your world, on that old cold couch
our very own faded green couch....where, suddenly
unexpectedly
your eyes blinked and appeared startled
they seemed to have awakened
and challenged my stare
a frown surfaced
then a smile...brightened your face.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
oh, the fear is so great
an empty gaze must never again take place!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

you are now with me
next to me....the closest we can be
I feel the wind of your breath,
Your pulse, your heart beating
no more gaps, or spaces to keep us apart
our hands hold tight
bodies, softly pressed
as  we now lay together...
you hug me tight, i know you feel much safer
i hug you back...tighter
i feel much, much better,
cause i'm now holding you...i've got you home,
we are both sheltered...in each other's warmth,
it matters not...we could lie, sit, or slouch,
the two of us...comfortably...in our own old couch.

It doesn't matter to me
where you had been

I'm begging......praying
no more empty gazes would occur
to part us............once more.

***have you ever experienced being "out there, roaming," even for a short time? Like, passing out, and watching, from above? Not at all like schizophrenia....but, like an out of body experience...or a momentary lapse in body functions...***
Raised me up, raised me right
On my knees in Glories light
Enlightening of this childish mind
Reaching for the very heights

Raised me tuff, raised me strong
Taught me lessons, right and wrong
Truthful as the day is long
How a Father would a son

Raised me to the tune of truth
A grip so tight it won't shake loose
In all I say and all I do
Raised me to be just like you

Raised me in the thick of things
With the best of up bringings
In what you can and can not see
Raised me right in word and deed

Raised me to a "T" without fault
Raised me in the name of love
Mirror, mirror on the wall
I am my Father after all
Longing to be in Your Presence
aching to be in Your light
for when You suffered
for when You died
You saved my life
You paid the ultimate price
and as I fall upon my knees
unworthy of Your grace and glory
The love of God is placed before me
and you kiss my eyes
and I am born again
I am forgiven
And my God be to glory
I am saved from sin

Born
Cry my child, for one does not bury a child without burying a part of one's soul with it.
Cry, for one cannot comprehend the ways of God.
It is for us to wash away our painful confusion  with tears and then to carry on.
.
.
For yesterday is not today and today is not tomorrow
After fifty years
I slipped into the school.

Madame Bela was visibly pleased
The classroom was too empty
Now I've one to do maths with

No less happy was Auntie Aloka
My favorite student is back
She lifted me up and said with a kiss
So vacant felt my class of English
Without a boy from olden times
Sweetly singing nursery rhymes

My eyes searched her and before long
Miss Jaya spoke in her softest tongue
I'm so glad to see his face
Sans him Bengali class was all emptiness

And there he was the only Sir
Amiyo Baboo the sports teacher
Isn't this the boy never won my trust
For always being in every race last

Fifty years haven't changed a bit
Either their age or their spirit
And surely the fun was doubly more
When I stood before the school mirror.
