I write with shaking hands,
I'm about to hold yours,
And I can only imagine,
It will feel like holding the universe.
Won't you,
Let me hold it forever.

i still remember the nights
spent tracing her lips, looking
for meaning in their cracks.

(shrunken spines, curling
lips and cosmic eyes.)

she'd kiss away my fears,
paint them black and blue,
distorting memories until
they became meaningless
lies dripping so easily off
her tongue that i'd soon begin
to mistake them for truths

(shrunken spines, curling
lips and cosmic eyes.)

Untouchable, she was the
kind of beauty to keep you
transfixed, swirling skies,
killing time, the crescendo
building up in your head
until everything just
suddenly
               goes
                       blank.

she was shrunken spines,
curling lips and cosmic eyes

i loved her, i hated her,
i still wish i could see her
without the memories
lying breathless,
clouding my gaze.

I'm fed up with writing
And so its time to say goodbye
Many friends I've made here
So I leave with tear filled eyes

I'm not the greatest writer
For I know not words to use
But I've always done my best
To reap your criticism or abuse

I'm getting old now
More than seventy years have passed
But I'm also getting tired
And poetic words don't last

I love you all my friends
Who share poetic words and phrases
But now I must hang up my pen
For I have had my day
Four dailies in two years, yes I was proud but now its your time
