Chose a (positive) word beginning with "a" ...selected a rhyming word that is also a synonym or in some way closely related...then same thing with the rest of alphabet. Don't know why I came up with this but it was kind of fun...and admittedly I stretched it pretty far on some.

We are the ones who are hard to understand
We'll be the last ones in the movie theatre
because the ending scene made us cry
We'll stop to smell the roses
because they deserve to be appreciated
We are the ones who will take the time
to learn what keeps you up at night
We are the ones who will imagine
an entire future of adventures
with the people who show us love

We are the ones who will love you more
than we love ourselves
We will give you our strongest parts
in hopes that we can make things better
We desire to see you become the best you
to make sure that you always feel our love
We crave affection and appreciation
We give a piece of ourselves away every day
sometimes to people who don't deserve it
Our love is easy to take advantage of
and sometimes we don't get back
the love that we give away

When we hurt, we crumble and fall apart
We constantly have to put ourselves back together
We are more fragile than we like to give off
We carry our emotions on our sleeves
Our flaws have the ability to consume us
We aren't afraid to give you the world
but we are afraid to feel unloved
We want you to see what we see
We want you to understand where we're coming from

We are good people with good intentions
We are stronger than we believe
Not everyone can feel the way we feel
We feel too much, too often
We are not hard to love
We are something not everyone knows how to love
But you need to remember that
your worth does not change just because
no one is there to appreciate you, to remind you

You are not any less lovable
You are the most lovable person in the world
You are a light that the world needs
Your kindness is not your weakness
You do not need to change for anyone's acceptance
You do not need to stop giving love
just because you don't get any back
Your heart is the best thing about you

And one day when you least expect it
someone will notice you from across the room
and know exactly how to love you
They will think all of these things are beautiful
They will deserve the love you can give
They will fill the empty space in your heart
But for now, don't stop feeling
We are the ones who feel everything so deeply
We are the ones who can't give up because
We are the ones who will teach the world
how to love
We are exactly who we are supposed to be

I'm trying to find the right metaphor for the storm
but I ended up mumbling your name.
I can hear your bones break like thunder.
I can hear your cries against my windowpane,
thousands of miles from where you are.

You never thought I would stop running but I did.
I still remember the day when you beg my heart to settle down.
I still remember our little dance in the terrace,
two young people in the night,
experiencing forever in twelve hours.

You were the reason why I feel sad over the sound
of singing cicadas and heartbeats.
You were the reason why I stop leaving things unfinished.

Last night, a friend called and told me how you're doing.
I wonder if your scars still hurt when it's six degrees outside.
I want to cover your shoulder with words and moonlight until it softens.
Until you stop putting your hand on your chest at 2AM to keep it from howling.

I don't remember what type of storm you are anymore,
But I still remember you when it rains.
mulberry tea and half a slice of orange. Our forever ended seven years ago but I still remember you when it rains.
You always said, “I don’t know what you see in me.”
Allow your soul to be a canvas,
As I paint you with these words.
Never lose them…

Lover
I see the sunlight in your skin.
That’s why I kissed every freckle and then one more,
So you’d know not even the sun…
Could love you as deep as I can.

Lover
Your hair,
Smells like every rose I’ve ever encountered.
That’s why when you’d leave,
I’d steal your pillow…

Lover
Your lips,
Are made of the softest velvet.
I’d touch your face when you’d kiss me,
Just to make sure they were really there.

Lover
Your eyes whispered,
“Baby… I could ruin your life.”
To which I replay,
“Sweetie… I want you here, to ruin the rest of my life.”

Lover
Your heart… Though tattered and imperfect.
I reached out with trembling hands,
Rest your weary heart here…
For I will never let it fall to the ground.

Lover
The night you said with tears in your eyes,
“Don’t let me mess this up.”
And I promised,
“Just don’t go…”

Lover
The night old love reached out,
I need you…
Yet, You returned to me,
What we had just too good to lose…

Lover
From that moment, the sun rose for me…
Until love left…
Not in a burn out, more how the moon delivers the night…
Heavy and silent…

Lover
New beds, galaxies away…
My love left…
On the tops of mountains,
The bottom of the ocean,
In the middle of the forest…

Lover
Every morning I hear that door close,
I walk to the edge of the highest cliff…

Lover
I am still longing for you…
Are you searching for me?
Because, I am still right here…

Lover…

Lover…
I blinked, Time winks with a smile.
He holds my hands steady and slow;
Guides me through the Cosmos, the
Only constant I've ever known. See,
Some will come, and some will go;
But this life is mine alone. And how
Beautiful are the things he has shown?

There´s not a lot
that I can do,
feel useless in
this situation,
maybe offer help
and understanding,
comfort with
soft spoken words
of sympathy
and caring.

I´ll quietly go
and make you tea,
whilst healing time
I know can do
a better job than me,
but know I,m here
and know I care
and know you´re not alone,
there´s not a lot
that I can do...

just share the pain
with you.

Aflaha
She sat by the vast river
Watching the sun go down
Mind at peace with her heart
And she smiled
How she thought she knew
What love was
Till she met him
And her soul shook
In a silent quake
And a storm raged inside her heart
Why hadn't she expected this?
Why was she so unprepared
For something that seemed
Only as certain as death
the words rarely break your lips, unlike those times when we spent weeks composing letters, weaving our souls into words for the other to pore their eyes over, pens bleeding into paper which we'd press to our chests or even to our faces in the hopes of a whiff of a scent of something familiar, when we were oceans apart,
but now we're only separated by minimal layers of clothing and it's when we're lying heart to heart, that dreamy look in your eyes while you stare into mine, the dark freckles on your pale skin clusters of constellations i can't wait to name, and that gorgeous grin of yours so large i feel embarrassed, 'what?' i always laugh and blush and say, and you pull me closer, arms enclosing me so tight i can't breathe, as if i'll leave - i never will - and that's when i know,
that's how you say it:
