aien't it funny how a broken heart
it seems it never heals
time keeps moving on
but your still reliving how it feels
to be sad and lonely
because somebody came
and took your smile from the world to see
and aien't it funny
how love can just fade away
time keeps moving on
but the memories take you back
to that sad and lonely place
and all that's left are the reflections of yesterday
because somebody came
and took your smile from the world to see
and baby aien't it crazy
how the sun always shines
but it can't hide away the rain
when those storm clouds come a rolling in
you just can't stop the tears
from falling again and again
searching for that rainbow in the sky
that you will never find
because somebody came
and took your smile from the world to see
my whole mouth tastes like metal,
copper pennies from before
The Great Zinc Switch
filling my warm wet mouth.
cigarette smoke hazing
my sinuses like a frat rush
and I'm desperately in need of an Advil.
let me place my coppery lips
on your bronzed skin,
Amman to Atlanta,
nails like knives and
The Book of Biology
teasing hormonal touches and hydration.
iron oxide keeps flaking off my
skin, eczema and psoriasis in rust, and
the guitars in my ears are ******* furious.
and still:
sweat and *** in the sheets, your love
lingering on my palate like a
too sour wine; you fermented and curdled
in my mouth, and
to taste you now
is agony.
time is dilating around me in ripples;
I cough until the gas in my stomach releases itself; crystal abrasive.
it's all drugs and
tinder matches these days,
****** kids...
total sunbeam, in my opinion
there's still enough for
a couple more
hits, it's still rolling,
words cloud around my head like
so much weedsmoke, Storm clouds
on the horizon of my parietal lobe
and I feel fine.
I am fine.
I'm not the richest guy on earth
I'm not as good looking as you may deserve
I'm not outgoing, or really confident
I'm not constantly up to date, on what trends are current
But if you stand by me, I'll stand by you
I'll hug you so hard
You'll not know what to do
I'll buy you food and rub your back
And hold you tight when your under attack
I love the music of the morning
as rain drops
beat out their rhythms
on my bedroom window panes.

I have heard that beat before
under tin roofs
in faraway jungles,
where lonesome young warriors,
not understanding
the rhythms of the rain,
nor life,
cried to that beat
of that falling rain.

Now, that I am laying here
next to you,
I have no fears.
No anger.
No worries about bombs
or tomorrows.

I have learned to love
that rhythm of the rain.
I have learned to love you.
I have learned to love me.

So, I am satisfied
just sleeping here with you,
while listening to the falling rain
and the beating of your heart.

I have learned to love both.
as if somehow,
they were only one,
and not separate hearts.
as you create a blazing path
  and offer all you are
       for all that is rejoicing
          how precious life is

knowing nothing I see you
       living as you must
          raw and true
        volcanic heart awareness
      embracing and embraced
                 by unknown
                     the partner true
The rush on my skin
Brush against yours
Wish yet again
Lies pull me towards
Chills rain on my neck
Your lips close to touch
The dark in your eye
Dance in the light
Get lost, let go
Forget about tomorrow
If only you would
It's all over now
Tied to his skin
You'll lose it somehow
Leave all at once
Never give in
It's a drug
You'll die of it's sin.
"What if I meet someone better?"
Words I would never understand
As to why anyone would ever ask
If they were already in love

Unless,
They weren't

How to write a poem

Put your right hand against your forehead,
Make sure the dorsal surface touches it
Now make a rightward circular motion;
Because your head's been aching for hours

Apply more pressure to your massage
As you squeeze your nape up and down
Then make circular neck motions—to the left; to the right
Whilst you look for the menthol liniment

And now you've found your relief formula;
Which caused you more harm than good
Because your bedroom is a jungle—
Full of mysterious creatures and uncharted places

Now open the lid and pour a little amount
On your left palm, and rub vigorously
With your right hand, and massage gently
Your frontal lobe; apply more if necessary

Now wait just for a couple of minutes
Notice that the heat is starting to permeate;
And your mind begins to take a deep breath
From its calming and soothing effect

And now you're feeling a whole lot better
You're acting like a normal person again
And now you're ready to write your poem
If all else fails, repeat everything from step one
