Painted
Nancy Morgan Dec 2014
Blue runs down my face, pouring from my eyes, pooling on my cheekbones, then rushing over them like a waterfall. Washing my face with blue.
Red shoots out of my mouth, screaming with anger. Sharp pigmet exploding in the air. Makes me purple.
Black covers me, filling me from the inside, the emptiness consuming my entirety, slowly, smoothly, silently. And I am darker.
White shows through, the blinding thoughts appear, sparkle and shine, for a moment and disappear, fade away, the other colors attack, the last piece of me left, the white suddenly is covered.

Mirror
Nancy Morgan Dec 2014
When I look in the mirror
It is not me I see
I see the words
You hurl
At me like knives
I see the scars they leave
On my body
Still bleeding
Still fresh
Left on me forever
Permanent.
Nothing can remove them
Not words
Not hugs
Not love
Not you
Permanent.

You
Nancy Morgan Dec 2014
You
The way you touched me.
Warm.
All the ice left my heart.
You made me warm.

The way you held me.
Safe.
Nothing could hurt me.
You kept me safe.

The way you looked at me.
Infinite.
I saw forever in your eyes.
You made us infinite.

The way you left.
Silent.
My world went cold, dark, empty, quiet.
You were silent.
