It's...
**** I forgot what I was going to write
For you Louise...  :)
I wanted to write a poem about flowers, so that's what I did.
It was short, expressed how I feel, and cut like glass.
I showed my father "Flowers" and he thought it was mediocre.
And I said, "No, "Mediocre" is the poem where I talk about dying,
and I'm trying to stay alive, so I wrote about flowers."

Flowers strangling soil plots with their roots, with their existence.
And to hurt something you love with your existence is a terrible feeling.

~

Licorice and lavender and lazy afternoons
On a beach to nowhere in a sea of red balloons
Cotton candy carousels that spin so ever slow
Everywhere is anywhere if you would like to go

Silly putty patterns in a shade of tangerine
Violins and cellos hold so tightly to the string
Daffodils in dancing shoes across the valley flow
Everywhere is anywhere if you would like to go

Puzzles painted purple play a perfect polished part
Rivers made of chocolate and the places that they start
Midnight moons now mingle with the fireflies aglow
Everywhere is anywhere if you would like to go

Pizza pies and railroad ties and cherries jubilee
Silhouettes at twilight in the shapes we’ve come to see
Sidewalks on the mountaintops that ramble through the snow
Everywhere is anywhere if you would like to go

A tiny leaf, a strong belief that spring does now arrive
The summer breeze, magnolia trees and lonely roads to drive
Shadows of the evergreens upon the ground to show
Everywhere is anywhere if you would like to go

Caramel connections in a sweet and gooey mess
Secrets and forsythia, a yellow summer dress
Skipping pebbles on the water three times in a row
Everywhere is anywhere if you would like to go

Peanut shells and wishing wells and taxi cabs to hail
Paper airplanes folded twice through aqua skies to sail
City streets and movie seats and popcorn we can throw
Everywhere is anywhere if you would like to go

Any day is everyday if you are here with me
Sunny skies and butterflies abound for us to see
Take my hand and understand that I do love you so
And everywhere is anywhere if you would like to go
Tests come along every moment
There will be more coming
And they will keep on coming
To test those few who try believing
To strengthen the one that is trusting

I know everything is a test
I know everything just needs more trust
In this situation that I am into
I know only few would try to believe
But only one would trust

I just need only one
Please don't take it from me.
Time always separates us...

Absent body, absent form.
Absent absolutely,
As if you were ne'er born.

Absent voice, absent deeds.
Absent frames,
Of histories ne'er seen.

Absent opinion, absent feeling.
Absent choice,
There's nothing left to be.

Absent, me.
On fathers, some fathers, but not my father.
Draped like a long forgotten shawl
my dreams lie in my mind, covered with a caul.
No second sight was afforded my disillusionment,
my deluded, discarded dreams.
Brittle decaying hope.
Tattered remnants of youthful vigour cling vine like
to my mind. Was I ever that happy?
Or is that an illusion also.
Born of the caul, as a charm to be deemed unable to drown,
so, that's why I failed.
I watch my past on fast forward, skipping to the present.
Strange word present, meaning: the here and now, or a gift.
My dreams are nightmares, my present is no gift.
My nightmares are the gifts of my present

I am a shadow,
Hiding,
Fearing.
Darkness prevailing,
As it hunts me in my sleep.

I am a tear
Wet to the touch
Waiting to forget.
Sadness in my eyes,
Mirrors reflect what I am.

I am a voice
Never heard
And never understood.
Through the night I whisper
Alas, if a soul could hear me speak.

When the good times end
When I hear the sirens go off
Watch me as I fade,
Fade into the air.
Watch me as I blend,
Blend in without fair.
See me as I go,
Walk out
Through the back door
Like a shadow,
Like a tear,
A voice,
That was never heard.
