Our love is this tree
Growing slowly this season
With fruit for feeding

Enjoy!
You're like the harmony in my sad song
Tapping my feet while my melancholy sings
I hold your name at the tip of my tongue
Savoring it like my new favorite dish
Your eyes are the ones I get lost in
Finding the peace to guide me home at last
The best thing I have ever done in my life
Was to let you to course and pulse within me
I was the bit of darkness in your bright room
But i want to be the log that feeds your fire
The one that keeps you well lit year round

Hot black tea you've great power to soothe me , making the day amusing
Nursing a cup with both hands , entertaining great plans
Closing the door on the disagreeable , making life quite simple* ...

Many thanks to the Black Swallowtail
that flew my way , unlocking needed creativity
on a vivid , picturesque Summer day* ...

A blistering , tense July -
as the view begins to 'silver'
Excitement builds in the dancing -
trees , petrichor fills the Western -
breeze
Robins bound from tree to ground
Insects at the will of life's current -
are rushed eastbound at the 'Lightnings
Command'
The mercy of 'Michael' is now at hand
Half dollar sized drops of rain begin to fall
'The Summer War of the Piedmont' has officially begun* ...

I hold my ears keen
Keep eyes opened wide
But can't solve the riddle
Of who's on whose side.

Today Tom heaps praise
Showers laurels too many
Tomorrow hell is raised
Tim is Tom's enemy.

How fast makes Tom amend
Finds Tim full of flaws
Pete is now his friend
Tim Tom unfollows.

He digs out wrongs of Tim
Finds him crooked and sly
So inducts in his team
Pete the nicest guy.

I can't hold back smile
Though at end of wit
How friendship is volatile
Sour turns a relation sweet.

I wonder why it's so
With life such a brief ride
We never really grow
Feel the need to be on same side.
They say nothing lasts forever
But the bitterness inside of me
And the heartbreak it caused you
Beg to differ

My body is aging
My story is true

It's happening to me
It will happen to you

My right knee is steel
So now I can't kneel

I'm sure God understands
He/She knows how I feel

You see blue sky
My right eye sees just cloud

I hear no music
For you it's so loud

I once had two kidneys
Now I have one

I agreed over dinner
My sister had none

My hair is all white
It used to be brown

It's going away
Without making a sound

I'm not complaining
Just telling you true

It's happening to me
It will happen to you
laughing at myself, getting a running start to get out of a chair!

We live in a world of talkers,
Of shouters, of debaters, of know it alls.
Listening is a long extinct creature,
Unheard of by a species that has devolved to simply wait their turn to talk.
Conversations no longer flow like rivers,
Instead they are puddles:
Started, then abandoned to become bone dry.

We live in a world of talkers,
All raising their volume to be heard,
Shouting that their opinions are fact.
No being is exempt from the epidemic,
The infectious itch to crank the volume dial right
And scream that the other talkers are wrong.

We live in a world of talkers,
Of screamers, of bigots, of smart alecs
In a universe not made for this noise.
The voices get louder, the status updates get longer, the protests get deadlier.
We live in a world of talkers
And soon we will live in a world of mutes.
